This was a really cute, neighborhood gym. It had all of the modern amenities that one would need from a gym, but with a more intimate, community feel. I did a fitness class with them and left feeling worked out and stronger. If I lived in the neighborhood, I’d go here all of the time.

I've sampled many classes on the UWS and Bao has the best class around for those who want a workout with results. He pushes you to your personal limit while also providing personalized adjustments for exercises depending on your body (e.g. I have weak wrists).

The facility is clean and up to date. I love the group classes, especially those led by the owner, Marco. The classes are pretty intense, but you don't need to be an athlete to follow along. Prices are very affordable, especially in this neighborhood.

The only thing I don't like about moving to Brooklyn is that there's no Momentum Fitness. I truly loved every small group class I took here and thought each one was worth it. I started out with them on class pass, but enjoyed the workouts so much, that I bought classes separately (which I NEVER did). It also helped that they used to have yelp or gilt deals. My favorite classes were ones taught by Bao and Marco, but you really can't go wrong. I've even tried their yoga, pilates, and boxing classesEach class left me feeling stronger and accomplished!

I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to work out or to anyone looking for new friends! So far one of the best gyms in town.

I've been working out at Momentum... with Coach Geoff for quite awhile. Both in his Kettlebell Classes, and in Personal Training. He is focused, and aware of each individual in Class. He lets each person know that they are seen, by offering adjustments when needed AS WELL AS encouragements to each person in Class. His personal training style is great. He'll explore what YOU are interested in, and create workouts for YOUR needs and desires. And he will make you SWEAT!

Momentum has awesome small group classes, including Strength & Conditioning with Emilio. He's a terrific instructor and the class is perfect for me -- there are very few classes anywhere with a focus on weightlifting, except CrossFit which is too intense for me. I've also taken Pilates with Isabella and gotten a great workout. Highly recommended!

Met with Marco, the gym's owner, for two private sessions. Doing exactly as he instructed under his supervision, I was injured both times. The first time, I could hardly bend from standing to sitting for four days, even with heat, ice, and stretching. Since the second one-on-one session, I have been in excruciating pain despite with heat, ice, and RX dosing of Alleve. I will likely have to seek medical care. Over the course of my life, I have worked with various trainers and fitness instructors. I have NEVER previously need injured doing anything they instructed while under their direct supervision. You cannot gain in fitness if your instructor's instructions cause you to get injured in every session. My advice is go elsewhere.

With the nonstop energy that is NYC, Momentum Fitness is a retreat from the chaotic hustle. Marco the owner and head trainer, along with his team of dedicated staff offer a variety of classes to suit any level/interest. They are educated on injuries and aches and pains and will take the time to cater to your exact needs, even in a full class. I found them on ClassPass, but quickly joined after realizing this is a one of a kind gym in the city. It’s sparkling clean, classy and welcoming to all. And supporting a small family business makes the experience even more fulfilling. Thanks to Marco and the team, ya’ll are the absolute best.

I've been working with Marsha for a little over a year now. Prior to that, I was measuring success by - 1) the number I saw on the scale, and 2) the caloric intake on MyFitnessPal. Needless to say, there was a lot of yo-yo-ing, with periods of weight loss, followed by periods of weight gain - no tracking of muscle mass, body composition, lean analysis, muscle-fat analysis -- and no progression plan. I was stuck in the same cardio pattern with no progress -- it was extremely frustrating.Marsha has helped me pivot my focus to strength, consistency in healthy habits, and longevity. So when she recommended tracking progress via the InBody check at Momentum, I was really curious to start measuring my success outside of just the scale.When you walk into the gym, it's extremely well-lit and open - with a large space in the center, and specific stations and rooms / offices to the sides. The front desk is your first stop and they're extremely helpful in getting you signed in. This was my first time in a gym since a full year of lockdown so I was impressed to see all the safety measures that Momentum was taking -- everything was squeaky clean, there weren't a lot of people so they were clearly mindful of capacity, and every single person was adhering to the mask rule. I was so relieved! After the InBody, you get your results right away -- and wow -- all the analysis was so illuminating. I can now take that, and make more informed decisions about my diet and fitness program.I've decided to check my progress via InBody more frequently than just annual so that I can stay on track. And the process at Momentum was so easy-breezy - I'll definitely be back!
