“Can't recommend Ithaca Auto enough! Honest folks, great service, never once tried to upsell or bamboozle me; in fact, they went above and beyond on several occasions. Once, while picking up my partner's car, I mentioned that I had a blown spark plug and they checked it for me right there, for free. Another time, after getting service done, the car still wasn't driving right; they took a look at it later that day (same day we picked it up), made a quick adjustment, and didn't charge for the extra service.
Last thing to note, I have a 2013 VW, and it can be hard to find a reasonably priced mechanic (who isn't at a dealership) to work on foreign cars. They handled everything I needed, including a new air compressor, regular oil changes, new brake pads, alignment, and some other things I can't remember.

“Made appointment with Louis for a rear brake inspection. This Taber Auto appointment was triggered by inspection visit to a local Large Chain auto service location. Scouring local service stations on Google and Yelp I opted for the 4.9/5 390 votes google star, Taber Auto Ithaca NY. A very common feature for each review was the service quality, integrity and kindness of Louis. Louis answers the phone, follows up with each client, told me the truth and fixed my service issue. Today my rear brake job was completed after status updates throughout the morning from Louis. The job was completed under the EOD promise time, and Taber auto also completed my inspection. Louis went further to say he would have passed me before begining the work as my rear brakes were within allowable tolerances. Now I will visit Taber Auto for all of my repairs. A wise mentor once told me, people go where they are made to feel welcome and stay where they are treated well. Louis treated me well and I plan to stay with Taber Auto.”

“We've taken our vehicles to John, Jack, and the rest of the crew for over 20 years. They've made exceptions to let me pull parts from scrap cars on Saturday mornings and given me good prices on the parts, even let me keep a broken down car there for far too long. Any issues we ever had were worked out and we're thankful to have good mechanics in our corner. They were able to rehab an old Volvo 240 brake piece for us that was nearly impossible to find a replacement for. Great people, thanks for everything guys!”

“Was traveling 6 hours from home (live in CT) when the coolant level light illuminated in my MK8. I didn’t want to take the chance of intermixing the wrong coolant from a local auto parts store. I called on a Saturday morning at 11am to see if I can get topped off. Eric in service picked up the phone quickly, invited me over, and greeted me at the door, where he already had the coolant ready before I even had my foot out of the car door. In and out with a smile!! Seems simple enough but often times dealers, such as my local CT dealer, a request like this has to be filtered by the call center who INSISTS you need to schedule an appointment days or weeks later… the matter of fact service, intake, and experience here at McGuire was great. Thank you Eric!!!”

“Kyle Shelato was an impossible customer to please. He is currently still driving his vehicle, with the Transmission we installed! As you can see he was quick to make several assumptions. The fact of the matter is, he dropped his vehicle off "in no hurry to get it back." $400 was taken off his total bill, due to the fact that there were issues beyond our control getting his Remanufactured Transmission in the time we had promised. After receiving his vehicle he chose to take it to the dealer, rather than contacting us regarding a leak, that turned out to be caused from a leaking transfer case seal. Even though the cause of the leak had nothing to do with us, or our work, we still paid half of the cost he acquired by taking it to the dealer. We also mailed his warranty information to him as promised. We are a small family owned and operated business established in 1993, and we take great pride in our work. We are more than willing to go above and beyond to help our customers in their time of need. As you can see though, some customers aren't pleased no matter what you do.”
