“This was the magnum opus of collectible stores. Have never been in a place like this, a safe haven in New York. Come here if you want to enjoy the good things in life.”
“I was recommended to come here and I found a cute Marine tshirt and this helmet bag! It is spacious and sturdy, I’ve used it as a laptop bag with all my essentials and also a gym bag. Excited to shop here again!”
“Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a fantastic collection of new and old comics. They also have a really great collection of collectibles in stock. They've also got a large collection of graded comics.”
“Great little shop that’s inside of mini mall where you can buy or sell genuine gold & silver coins and accessories, very good knowledgeable service by the owner, no pressure and no hassles, honest and reasonable valuation.”

“the most special little pocket of a craft store i had ever hoped to find. forget michael's, artist & craftsman supply has an immense variety of what you need to make art, and you'll be supporting small business! i went in just for some spools of embroidery thread, and not only did they have a huge spectrum of colors, but i must have left with two armfuls of craft supplies - as someone who loves to always be creating new things, that's how i know I'll be coming back forever!!”

“The sign outside suggests this is either a Hare Krishna storefront or a first generation head shop. Don't be deceived. Inside is one of the hippest (and hippiest) stores in the Village.
True to their name, they have beads, lots of them, from plastic to semi-precious and in all price ranges. Ditto crystals, minerals, regional handicrafts from Mexico and India, beaded curtains, you name it.
They also have a few thousand holiday ornaments, with an emphasis on cultural icons past and present. Are there elves and Santas, sure. But you'll also find Taylor Swift ornaments, Wizard of Oz/Wicked ornaments. Puppies, cats, birds, Hindi gods, Tim Curry (as Dr. Frank-N-Furter), wica-themed things, Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royals, manga, the Golden Girls, tacos, Harry Styles, and hypodermic needles. Most are glass and in good taste; some of in decidedly bad taste (I wanted those most of all).
Because it's a little dusty in spots, it still gives a 1970's, "Whole Earth" vibe. Thankfully, the courteous staff (Candace helped me and she was a delight) brings a wholesome and helpful air to the place. I bought a Glinda the Good Witch and a Taylor Swift ornament but expect to go back for a Botox syringe.
If you've read my other reviews (i.e., More and More and John Derian) you know I'm huge a fan of great ornaments. This shop makes a worthy companion to those other two with very little overlap in the products they offer. I wish I'd stumbled in sooner.
Just for good measure, pick up a little Rose Quartz to help get your through the holidays (these are tough times, maybe a crystal will help).
Who is going to love it? Christmas freaks, jewelry people, yogis, fashionistas, drag queens, crafters, and the rest of the cool kids.”

“Love to go there - amazing selection - but you have to understand the experience. It contains a HUGE selection of games, and RPG books. Might be the most in NY State outside of the huge Millennium games up in Rochester. I've found items that have been out of print for years, or had small production runs.
BUT...
Stacked in huge shelves that stretch from floor to ceiling. It takes a while to read through everything! With tiny aisles that barely have room for one person to walk down. If you're claustrophobic, be warned!
It's almost all at MSRP. Not a place to get a bargain or a deal, generally (that said, they do have a bargain shelf at the back of the store. Right hand aisle, left side all the way back).”
“Staff are great. I needed some chalk markers, walked out with exactly what I needed plus a really awesome dot-by-letter book Michelle recommended. Lovely community feel no big chain store can give. Highly recommend this place!”
“My fav type of craft shop; hold the frills, has all the goods w/ crafty community members at the counter who are excited to help u bring your project to fruition. Will be returning! Got my eye on the little origami kits at least hehe look so fun”
“Love book stores which are virtually a relic of the past. A nice place to spend some time browsing titles. I was looking for books for our grandchildren. I noticed it was a draw for some neighborhood seniors as a place to cool off on a hot summer day while reading up on some titles.”
“My favorite board game store in the city! The play space is a bit small but it's manageable. The staff is top notch and the community is simply amazing!
They have most if not all of the popular board games as well as a selection of minis and paint supplies. They also have a good selection of rpg material and supplies!
If ever you find yourself close by, I highly recommend a quick browse!”
“Went here a few months ago and was blown away by the spaciousness! Definitely more expensive than the other arcades and be prepared to spend more money. However, the merch and plushies are official and licensed, as far as I know this is the only arcade in flushing that does not have bootlegs so that may explain the higher price tag. I will say, I really liked the Lunar New Year promo they had and they should definitely have similar events more often to offset the difficulty and high cost-but at the same time, it's still skill and luck based!Machines are definitely harder, but ask employees for help! The last time we went, we were trying to win a derpy looking dinosaur, and it was very difficult (claw was too weak and plushie was very big and chubby) and the worker helped us reposition. The app did glitch and take away 2 tries for us that we weren't able to play, but the same worker helped us (I never got her name but she had glasses!). She was very encouraging and sweet and helped us win it!”
“Tannen's shop is magical. Anyone who has made it to the 6th floor at number 45 and to door 608 will end up in a paradise for magicians. Hundreds of tricks are waiting behind the large counter to be demonstrated and purchased. There is also a whole library of magical literature on the shelves.”

“Brooklyn Hobbies offers a fantastic selection of RC-related products and accessories. Their staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer any questions you may have. They even have a full-sized mini RC track in the basement, where you can test out your new purchases. Richard, is a great resource and will guide you through the process of selecting the perfect RC for your needs. I’m thrilled to have a brick-and-mortar RC Hobby store in our neighborhood. Keep up the excellent work Guys!”

“I get a bit nervous when shopping online at a retailer I have never used before. I could list a number of places NOT to use.
PopnGames was excellent. I received my shipment only a few days after ordering. It was packaged well and in great condition.
Recommended.”
“The greeters were pleasant. The young lady behind the counter was extremely helpful. She came and helped me look for what I was needing, and then helped me at the register.”
“I have placed a great many orders with this fine firm. They have not disappointed. They have a great selection at very reasonable premiums. They have frequent deals and many opportunities to buy gold and silver at spot prices that keep me coming back. They have THE lowest premiums that I have found.”
“I haven't actually spoken to anyone yet but I am trying to sell my stamps so if someone can help me out I would appreciate it because they are rare and in mint condition and I have heard good things about this place but I am not sure what is going on.”
“My 89 yr old mother got stuck in the elevator at the Michaels on Metropolitan Ave on Friday afternoon . When she got out the on duty manager made sure that she was ok and provided a place to sit and water. He also rode down with her when we had finished shopping as she was uneasy going alone . (I am claustrophobic, and that day's incident really convinced me that I did not want to be in that elevator lol.) the store is nice, but I'm impressed me most was the personal care we received that day.”

“I met Victoria Monét here for a photo op, got a copy of her new book and passed her team some of my R&B beats. Hopefully, she uses at least 1 of the beats on that hard drive and win herself another Grammy Award ? ?”
“Excellent customer service everyone is very helpful. Very clean store. Quality items at a reasonable price. I've been shopping here for almost 30 years and I wish I lived closer but worth the trip.”
“Visited Michael's for the first time after learning how to knit. They did have a plethora of yarns—various weights and yardage, but many of the average lengths of the yarns I seen were polyester, acrylic and not many more natural yarns like cotton or wool. I was hoping to find the more natural stuff in a larger size(or longer length) than the palm-size cotton bounds. I did buy two fuzzy yarns for another scarf for a friend though.
Overall, it was cool to be there. Just wanted more natural stuff. Understandably it may be more expensive.”
“I love Michael’s when I visit Long Island. I could be in there for HOURS ? Love the Selection, Variety and sheer volume of Items ! Heaven for Me !! ????????”
“This is a nice place to find unique scale models. The selection of trains in particular is expansive. Reading some of the other reviews almost made me skip this place, but I think you just have to understand that while this may not be the cheapest place to find a particular model it is the rare store where you can see such a diverse selection of scale models in one place. The gentleman behind the cash register was very warm and helpful when I asked him to point me in the direction of some specific models I was looking for. Overall, a really unique old school shop in midtown that I look forward to visiting again.”
“I had a great experience at this GameStop. The staff was extremely kind, patient, and professional throughout the entire trade-in process. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made what could have been a stressful situation feel easy and smooth.
Thank you to the team for the excellent customer service, it truly made a difference.”
