“This spot is a GEM of Westchester County. From around 9:30AM-1:00PM (approximately, some days run out faster than others) they offer fresh bento and onigiris in their prepared food fridge section. Bentos include cooked salmon, mackerel, Japanese-style chili chicken, fried pollack, and sometimes more or less depending on what's available, they range from about $9.50-$14 (a STEAL for a nice big lunch in WC). They also have refrigerated beef bowls, eel bowls, and sometimes other bowls. They also have a small selection of prepared sushi, sashimi, and sushi bowls. Onigiris vary depending on what's available, but typically they'll have tuna-mayo, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, eel, kelp, spicy cod roe, and more (sometimes less depending on the day). Did I mention their store is absolutely pristine? Easy to find everything? Well stocked drink fridge with Japanese sodas/energy drinks/health elixirs? The ladies that run the store and cashier are incredibly kind too! Limited free parking for the shop, but plenty of White Plains paid parking and some street parking on Mamaroneck (I know ughhh) nearby and yes I see attendants there every so often so watch out y'all. AND they have a rewards program (ANALOG, THANK GOD) where you get a little pink card and get a stamp for every $10 you spend, once you get 100 stamps you get $20 OFF your purchase. Definitely a rite of passage to complete one of the cards, but it'll be easy to do once you get hooked. Literally cannot say enough about this spot, check my reviews-- this is probably the longest!”

We also bought the homemade apple strudel and plum cookies which were amazing and not too sweet. “This place has everything you ever need for great food at a deli. The food is unreal all the pre made meals you can take home. All the side dishes. We grabbed two huge steaks they will just cut to size for you. Yet the winner for me is the sandwiches. Like so many options and a great just basic menu. But you can add or change a few things. I absolutely love the roll they put it on with all the fresh sliced meat and cheese. Unreal. Love love love this place.”

“Huge ShopRite store in croton. This is possibly the largest ShopRite store I have ever seen. Each shelf is well stocked and the store is very clean. The aisles are wide and they seem to carry a larger variety of products than other stores. Each department is large and they also have an exceptional cheese selection. The fresh food selection and snack/beverage options were great - we had chicken sandwiches that could give chick fil a a run for its money. The staff were friendly and hooked us up with their reward program that got us a free coffee on the spot. The bathrooms were super clean and high tech. If having a favorite gas station is a thing, this would be it.”
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
