Pet Stores & Supplies

Aardvark Pet Supplies Inc.
1016 Broadway, ThornwoodThis is a nice local store. They seem to try to do an awful lot with their space, products, etc. They are always happy to chat through questions about dog food and such. They are also good about tracking frequent buyer discounts from brands..

Root 2 Rise NY
359 Manville Rd, Pleasantville⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Roots to Rise is truly a gift to our community. Founded by Chefs Jyoti Tewani and Michael Kagan, (who created the best grain free bread you will ever taste!)this restaurant has become our absolute go-to because every dish is prepared with genuine love and care.
You can taste the attention to detail in every bite. I never worry about ingredients, preservatives, or sourcing—everything is thoughtfully chosen and beautifully prepared. Chef Jyoti's Ayurvedic background means the food is created with healing in mind, but don't mistake healthy for boring. These dishes are rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. Whn I eat here I know I am giving my body the best!
Beyond exceptional food, they've built a true community. They educate customers about wellness and food choices, and I've heard amazing stories—one regular shared how Chef Jyoti created a personalized meal plan that helped him lose weight and improve his heart condition.
The customers have become like family, and it's clear why so many return again and again. Roots to Rise has created a space where we gather, connect, and nourish ourselves with food made with true integrity and heart. They go the extra mile in ways no other restaurant does. Simply put, you can feel the love they cook into every creation.

Soul Brewing Company
41 Wheeler Ave, PleasantvilleDog-friendly. Family-friendly. People-in-general friendly. Very comfortable: high ceilings, four-top tables with chairs, two-top tables with high stools, a lively bar, street-side window benches, and a view of the brewing tanks in the loft at the rear. Love the cool old music posters. Add to all that an evolving palette of lagers, IPAs, stouts, and an occasional experimental or seasonal brew, and you've got a place that you'll wish was in your town. Fortunately, it's in ours, smack in the heart of the Pleasantville commercial district, just around the corner from the Jacob Burns theater. (Now, if only I could get them to start a Happy Hour, I will edit this review and give them SIX stars.)

LEFTERIS GYRO IV
501 Marble Ave, PleasantvilleStopped by for an early dinner. We were greeted with a smile when we walked in the door and seated quickly. Restaurant was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Menu was expansive with plenty of choices. Our server, Nicolle, promptly took our order. Food was fresh and tasted great. Service was top-notch. Will definitely be back in the near future.
