Pet Pantry Warehouse
737 White Plains Rd, ScarsdaleIt is more than 20 miles away, half an hour drive even to the nearest location ( Scarsdale ) from my house so I had not been there for a long time. However, I received discount coupons in mail and I had been searching dog food for my picky eater, I decided to go even in torrential rain. A lady at the front greeted my husband and myself and offered for help. That was a very good impression. Furthermore, I noticed that the coupons were already expired to use, but she accepted them without any hesitation. ( Hope she won't get any trouble) The prices of the food I bought were less than I spent on Amazon. My dog liked the food very much. The trip to the store was a true worth for me.

Happy Cat Hotel & Spa Westchester
313 Central Park Ave, ScarsdaleHappy Cat Hotel is an incredible place. The staff members are all completely sweet and treated my cat like a member of the family! I was able to view my cat on the web cam and watch her as often as I could. The stay was less stressful on her and the attention they gave her made her feel like she never left home. I want to give 6 stars! I have added grooming pics !

2S Dog House
511 Central Park Ave, ScarsdaleSummer does a great job grooming Smokey. I love his hair cuts. She also brushes his teeth as part of grooming. I've had to pay extra for teeth cleaning with other groomers in the past.I also love that she takes good care of Smokey during her grooming. She takes into consideration that Smokey does not like the blow dryer, so she lets Smokey relax in the crate while his hair dries with cool circulated air, even though it takes longer for his hair to dry.I also love that Summer has slower, quieter days during the week for older or anxious dogs.

Best Friends Pet Grooming
752 Central Park Ave, ScarsdaleUPDATE: Second Visit: Louie's Nail Transformation
(Google won't let me leave a separate review for Louie so I had to just update my original review even though it's for 2 diff pups):
Jess at Best Friends Pet Grooming Salon is nothing short of MAGIC. I don’t use that word lightly — what she did for my Frenchie, Louie, honestly blew me away.
Nail trims have always been a huge issue for us, especially at the vet. They would leave his nails too long, and over time the quick kept growing out, turning his nails into literal bear claws. It got to the point where I didn’t think we’d ever get them back to a normal, healthy length.
I found Jess for my labradoodle Mabel (review below: amazing) Not only did she trim his nails as short as safely possible, she did it with incredible gentleness and patience. Louie was calm, comfortable, and completely at ease — which NEVER happens. But what truly sets Jess apart is her knowledge and care. She’s actively working on helping the quick recede over time so his nails can return to a normal length instead of those “eagle talons.”
Who even does that?! That level of attention, skill, and dedication is so rare. Jess doesn’t just groom — she genuinely cares about your dog’s long-term health and comfort.
I’m beyond grateful we found her. If you have a dog with difficult nails or any grooming challenges, Jess is the one. Truly one of a kind.
First Visit: Mabel's Grooming:
Finding a new groomer after moving had me SO stressed — especially because my Mabel needs someone very special to calm her anxious and scared feelings. Finding Jess at Best Friends Pet Grooming Salon was a total blessing.
My Australian Labradoodle, Mabel, is very nervous, shy, and not the easiest dog to groom. She gets anxious, tries to run away, and needs someone with real patience and understanding. From the moment we met Jess, I could tell she was different. She has such a calm, gentle energy that immediately put both me and Mabel at ease.
Jess took her time, never rushed, and handled Mabel with so much care and compassion. It’s not just grooming to her — she truly connects with the dogs. And the results… absolutely stunning. Mabel came out looking beyond beautiful — soft, perfectly styled, and so confident. She literally looked like a show dog!
I never thought I’d say this, but Jess didn’t just meet my expectations — she exceeded them. If you have a nervous or high-maintenance pup, RUN, don’t walk to Jess at Best Friends Pet Grooming Salon. She is a rare gem, and I am so beyond grateful we found her!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Wood & Fire Neapolitan Style Pizza
118 Brook St, ScarsdaleFirst the good. I judge a lot by how well a martini is made and bingo….excellent. Appetizers were very good and pizza was excellent. Shout out to the fried calamari! They were some of the best I’ve had…light and not greasy. Pasta e fagioli was very good…not like mom’s but good enough.
The critique is I ordered spaghetti carbonara on the strength of how good the appetizers were, but it was disappointing. I think the chef forgot to put the cheese in…it was absolutely tasteless and I left more than half of it. In my opinion, when a busboy or server etc. sees your dish more than half full, they should ask why you left it. In my case, I was asked, but no effort to make the situation better e.g. take it off the bill, offer a drink or dessert etc. final comment….it definitely is not the place to have private conversations…where we sat it was almost Impossible to hear each other talking…there were 5 of us. We sat near the bar and opening to outside seating. I don’t know how loud it was outside but I’m guessing less so.
