“Construction was completed in 1936 and this building is a classic. Even if you don't have anything to mail, it's worth stopping in to check out the five murals inside by American artist Ernest Peixotto, including George Washington's visit to Oyster Bay and Theodore Roosevelt at Sagamore Hill. However, the building was closed and locked when I arrived well after regular business hours. There are mailboxes outside on the curb which were useful for dropping off post cards. The post office was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. [Review 15331 overall, 833 of 2021, number 216 in New York.]”

Stop being cheap on the holidays Scarsdale people . Post office workers work soo hard to get yall packages in rain sleet and snow falling tripping just to rush to have lunch that’s really not long enough.
And the summers try to offer more water so they don’t die on your steps or pass out . It’s burning up outside and you think you have Johnny bravo carrying your stuff or Arnold swordsanegga or however his friggin name is spelled .
Oh & Have more compassion

“Easily the best post office I’ve ever used. They have a parking lot (!!) and I’ve gotten to know both postmasters and most of the clerks over the past decade. The staff is professional and efficient and even though at busy times it backs up easily (credit a lot of privileged suburbanites who use the USPS all of once a year and equally unprepared college kids from the two local schools), I have always trusted this post office and the excellent service and support they’ve long given me and my business.”

I go there regularly to send out packages and have to say the one employee Ash is always very friendly and welcomes everyone with a smile and wishes everyone a great day as they leave. I will continue to bring all my mail and packages to this location just based on the customer service alone”
“Always courteous, always fully staffed and that staff is helpful, knowledgeable and thorough when explaining the mailing service options.
We ship a broad variety of packages and they get the job done well every time.
I always wonder how come deliveries are quicker when shipped from this USPS or the one in Rye, than when shipped from other area sites? The difference is noticeable and why we travel a bit out of our way for our mailing needs.”

“Just had a Hanukkah miracle! We were missing a package and since it was Christmas everything was closed. I called the post office the next day and Kenisha was SOOO pleasant and patient! “I don’t know why there are bad reviews but I’ve had the BEST experience every single time. My daughter is getting married and they’ve been very helpful with the invitations (domestic & international). They personally stamped each one since the wax seal makes it difficult to go through the machine.

The photo quality was much better than the CVS around the corner. Less than a week, The passport State Government Office got my information quick. Well worth the quick passport appointment and traveling to this Larchmont Post office.”
“Staff here helped me out big time today. I mailed a package of returned items and an hour later my wife realized she packed her orthotics in one of the boxes. I raced back and the staff here dug up the box and and I was able to get the orthotics back. Would have been a disaster otherwise. Thank you!”

I have made 5 stops to other post offices and the experience wasn't the same. This will be my go to post office moving forward. These ladies understand customer service, empathy, and their service.”

Just moved here and was super nervous about coming here based on all these negative reviews! For context, my last local USPS was an absolute dream with great customer service, rarely any long queues, and all my mail made it to me and to any destinations I sent them to.
Today, I went in for a weight check for a couple different zip codes and April was very helpful/informative. I asked her about the self service kiosk and apparently I used it incorrectly, which is why I kept getting a really expensive shipping rate.
Anyway, wanted to come here to say it wasn't that bad, but we shall see how things go!”
“I have shipped over 30k packages in the past 5 years or so at many different post offices in CT. For whatever reason, the ones I ship from this location never seem to get lost. That's all I really care about. I've worked for the post office, amazon and ups so I might be a bit biased in saying this but the customers here, at times, tend to stand there like a toddler that needs help mailing their first letter or package. Which would be fine if you were the only customer in the world but sorry you're not. Have some self-respect and figure out what you're doing a bit before stumbling into a store confused and expecting a guided tour.”

“I have to give an extreme shout out to Paul at the Port Chester Post Office. Paul is a mail carrier that trained me to be a mail carrier at another office in Westchester. On my last day of training while Paul and I were loading the truck to go on our route in Port Chester, a suspected drunk driver crashed into Paul’s personal vehicle which was legally parked offsite from the Post Office. I literally witnessed this man receive the news that his car was totaled from a colleague of his. What does this man do? He makes a few phone calls to the police and insurance company and he continues his day. He continues to train me and does not skip a beat. The delay caused us to be out late that day but we completed our route and delivered all the mail we had. I cannot stress this or commend this enough. I barely told him how impressed I was because we were just rolling with the punches and working in the moment. If you encounter Paul please salute him because he takes his job and delivering your mail very seriously. He is the one that rocks the double satchel. I can only hope that I live up to the standards of the one who trained me as a mail carrier at my office. Bravo Paul and Bravo to the Port Chester Post Office!”
