CTown Supermarkets, established in 1973, is an independently owned chain with over 130 stores serving the Metro-New York City area. The stores focus on supporting local communities and giving back to neighborhoods. Customers find the shopping experience generally positive, especially appreciating the friendly and helpful staff. Recent improvements have been made to the vegetable and fruit sections, which are now more appealing, although some customers suggest further upgrades to the meat sections, such as implementing an open concept where butchers can cut and package meat in front of shoppers. Meat quality has reportedly improved by 40%, and store sales are good, with many items on sale as advertised. However, some issues remain, such as vegetables sometimes sitting too long and becoming soft or soggy, possibly due to high prices limiting movement of fresh produce. Customers also note that some items lack price tags, making shopping less convenient, and occasionally, cold cuts and meat may seem old or less fresh. Overall, CTown Supermarkets is a convenient option for quick shopping trips, with a focus on community support and ongoing store improvements.

C-Town has been in Middle Village for a very long time. They have nade improvements since I moved in 1999 as I stop in from time to time. Seems to me a better management strategy would improve the function of this old neighborhood stalwart.
