“It was the place guest house I have ever stayed. It is difficult to say that it was a guest house, I think it was my second home. She acted like she was our grandma, giving her love, laugh, kindness and generosity. Breakfast cooked by her and her husband Nabil (who is the professional chief) are incredible and delicious. Her breakfasts are like lunch, after her breakfast you will need to eat only a dinner, since she provides so much food for breakfast. Whenever you approach to her, she responds immediately (towel, cleaning, food, help...). We became close friends during 2-week stay, even one family. She even bought a big toy four our son and cooked a free farewell dinner for us, so we had a family talk with her family. It is located in the heart of Red Hook, everything (grocery, cafes, shops and CVS) is so close to her house.I highly recommend to stay only there in Red Hook, if you want to feel the big heart of local people.Rooms: Rooms are fantastic, clean, big and warm.Nearby activities: Everything is around, 2-5 min.Safety: Cameras everywhere, very safe.Walkability: It is the heart of Red Hook.Food & drinks: Incredible and delicious, and a lot.”

“The beautiful old Beekman Arms Hotel and Tavern are jewels of Dutchess County. We are loyal customers and dine here frequently. The mussels and fish are always fresh, the meat (mostly from local farms) is very tender and tasty, and the drinks are made by a talented bartender. No tiny martinis here! For this dinner the three of us ordered shrimp stuffed with crabmeat accompanied by risotto, a standard menu item. As appetizers we ordered onion soup and mushroom toast with salad (to share). Excellent! During peak holiday weekends the noise level can rise and the wait staff can become overextended. But that's to be expected almost everywhere.”

“Horrible experience. They claimed that we didn't pay for the room but even after showing them the charge on my card from the hotel, they insisted we must pay again. When we declined they threatened to call the police. Goes without saying the charge will be disputed.”

“Had a delightful lunch in the Tavern. The menu selection is a good mix of their regular dishes plus some excellent seasonal specials. The beer menu is consistently good and I enjoyed a tasty IPA from Hudson Valley. Service was terrific and ambiance is genuinely wonderful. Felt like I’d spot George Washington at another table.”

“Clean and comfortable. The outside and public areas are very dated-looking. I guess I got one of the good rooms... everything was clean and new, bed was comfortable and everything worked fine. The shower and tub fixtures were old but clean and worked. The staff (both evening and morning) were ok but really seemed as if they didn't want to be there. Looks like a "family run" business.Location is convenient, next to highway. Recommend the very short drive to downtown Saugerties to eat.”
