The Hyatt Regency Rochester is a hotel located in the heart of downtown Rochester, making it centrally located and walkable to different restaurants and nearby attractions. The hotel has been recently renovated, with rooms described as clean and in good condition. Many reviews note that the staff is incredibly nice and extremely helpful. However, experiences vary significantly. The building and rooms are noted by some as not very well maintained. Common criticisms include poor soundproofing, with rooms described as loud, allowing noise from elevators and neighboring conversations. Other issues mentioned are insufficient lighting, problems with unreliable internet, and a lack of certain amenities or facilities. The on-site restaurant receives mixed feedback, with some calling the food very good and worth recommending, while others find it lacking. The hotel's central location also makes it susceptible to large conferences, which can lead to overcrowding, long elevator wait times, and a disruptive atmosphere. Potential guests should be aware that advertised amenities, like the pool, may sometimes be closed.
I was here for 5 nights for a conference and it was a great spot to be able to walk to restaurants and spend free time seeing some of the sights. The garage is partially connected to the hotel and easy to get in and out from. The city is easily drivable, and I wish I'd had more time to explore.

The Wi-Fi worked about half the time. No backup plan--just keep trying to connect. Swimming pool was closed for maintenance. Three treadmills in the gym, one broken. On the positive side, the rooms were clean. But not recommended for the price.

We had a wonderful time at the Hyatt for the Girl Scouts of Western New York's Annual Gold Awards Luncheon. The room looked fabulous, the chicken lunch was fresh and tasty, and the wait staff even roasted the marshmallows for our S'mores Dessert Table! Lovely event!
