“Searched out this place for ethanol free fuel for my snowblower. Having read on multiple snowblower forums, it's the fuel of choice.

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon, the day before the big storm was to hit Long island, and the amount of people standing and waiting with their gas cans for this was insane.

I asked the pump clerk is this a normal occurence and he said pretty much.

Overall a cozy gas station, friendly staff and one of the only places on the north shore of Long Island that offers ethanol free fuel.”

Would recommend to anyone in the Saint James area who needs quick and reliable work as it’s not usually busy. I believe this place is under new management so all older reviews are likely outdated and unrelated.

I decided to try this place out for the first time as I live within walking distance. I have an older car (‘98 Mitsubishi Eclipse) and was having problems with a check engine light throwing a misfire code. I dropped it off at K D S on a Thursday around 4pm, and by 6pm I had gotten a call back regarding my car. The mechanic diagnosed my car completely free of charge and informed me the misfire was coming from a leak in my exhaust and not from the engine itself. We arranged to have him fix the problem the following day. He told me it would be $250 for the fix, and offered to include a tune up package (spark plugs, filters, etc.) for another $150 as well as an oil change for $75. While the oil change was a bit expensive the rest of the prices were reasonable enough for me.

The next day I dropped my car off around noon. K D S closes at 7:00pm, but I wasn’t going to be back until 7:30. I informed the mechanic and he agreed to leave the key for me so I could grab the car after they closed. When I got there at 7:30, he was there still working on my car, and said he needed another 30 min. I came back once it was done, and he did not charge me anything more than the price we discussed even though it kept him there late. Have had no problems with the work he did and the car runs great. 10/10, would recommend.”
