“I went specifically here due to reviews after being told my save the dates for my wedding were too thick with a wax seal to mail by other post offices. I was so close to having to open every single envelope and do it all over again. Until I went here! The clerk Danielle was so helpful! She made sure I had the right stamp that way it will be hand cancelled and won’t be an issue when mailing. She was so polite and even ran to make sure my postage made it on the truck for the day! I can’t thank her enough! She saved me HOURS of my time and HOURS of my hard work! I will definitely be coming back to Oakdale post office to send out my wedding invites! :)”
“I wanted to take a moment to recognize Fran for the incredible service she provided when we recently came to the Stony Brook Post Office to renew my husbands passport.
From the moment we arrived, Fran was incredibly kind, patient, attentive, and helpful. She took the time to carefully explain everything we needed to know about the passport renewal process and made sure we understood all of the information before we left. She was knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely went above and beyond to make the experience as easy and stress-free as possible.
What stood out to me most was how wonderful she was with my children. She was so patient and sweet with them, making them feel comfortable and welcome throughout the entire process. As a parent, that kindness meant so much to me.
Customer service like Fran’s is truly something special. She was professional, compassionate, and clearly takes pride in helping people. I hope you will pass along my appreciation to her and recognize her for being such a wonderful representative of the Stony Brook Post Office.

“Post offices in New York have a reputation for being chaotic, understaffed, and frustrating -- and honestly, that reputation is often earned. This one is a different experience. The Mount Sinai USPS branch is calm, organized, and staffed by people who are actually respectful and willing to help you figure out what you need. The full range of standard postal services is covered -- Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, certified mail, money orders, stamps, packaging supplies, and passport services -- and the layout makes it easy to navigate without feeling overwhelmed. Wait times are manageable and the pace of the operation does not feel rushed or chaotic. Parking is available on site, which removes one of the usual headaches of a postal errand entirely. By any reasonable standard for a government postal facility in New York State, this branch is doing things right. Nothing flashy, nothing extraordinary -- just a post office that works the way a post office should. That is more than enough to earn a recommendation.”
“Every time I go in there they workers are having a party, swinging from the lamps, dancing, blaring the music, drinking cocktails. I think I smell weed sometimes too. I usually hang out for a couple of songs and then leave buzzed, I usually forget to mail my letters LOL. Did anyone ever play that game with with the postage scale they are always playing? SO FUN!”

“Kathy! Upon meeting her you will quickly understand why this whole review is about her. It's the person at any workplace that can turn anywhere into a experiance. Not a post office, a retaurant, or a store. She is the most well mannered, seamless, and best employee any could desire. All her actions are smooth and the energy she brings is so tranquil. She needs to be the mentor of many not post office workers but in other vast workplaces

“The lady at the desk I forgot to look at her name but she was very polite, professional and kind. My family and I went to apply for passports for my kids and we had gone to the one in Centereach and they were not helpful at all. I booked an appointment the first time and they didn't help me bc they said the appoitment was supposed to be earlier but I got there on time but didn't know I had to fill-out applications first made another appointment and got there on time there was a line and then they said that they couldn't help me bc the pictures were not supposed to look like that that the hair had to be down, they found any excuse to not help and that they were busy that day to book another appointment for another day even tho it was only 9:30am so I went to this one in CI and they were the best of the best.”
“I have to say, these two women today were so wonderful! I was stressed about sending back a wedding gift for my fiancé and I didn’t have the right packaging. They took care of everything for me, taped everything up and put the label on for me- made it stress free for me! I can’t thank them enough!”
“This is the best post office in my area. Any time I use this post office to send a pkg or letter it gets sent out very quickly and tracks immediately. The people who work there are very polite and helpful. I will not use any other post office for my mail needs.”
“Postal workers here have always been polite and helpful; however, Jesse deserves special mention:
We were expecting a shipment of live chicks. Tracking the shipment, we discovered that it had been delayed at Jamaica and was scheduled to be delivered the following day instead -- Obviously not great for live baby birds.
Jesse helped investigate -- and when they arrived later in the day, he drove them over to our house personally to deliver them!
(FYI, for those who don't raise chickens and wonder how they can survive the trip: Before they hatch, chickens absorb the remains of the yolk inside the egg and use it for nutrition/hydration over the first two or three days. A heat pack is added to the box to help them stay warm, and obviously there is special care in handling and delivery.)”
“Post office in Coram is a great post office. I have a PO box , at a different post office in Suffolk county, and my mail was sent to Coram by mistake. I went to the Coram post office today, and i picked up the mail , no problem. Plenty of parking outside too”

“I've lived in Commack since 1976. The staff at this post office over the decades, has been wonderful. Rico, Rich, Heather and Zelda to name a few along with my carriers Ralph(RIP), Chuck, Clutch and Nikki have been so pleasant. From mail, to packages and passport s, the service has been great.”
“I'm constantly reminded that I should always come here any and every time I go to the Smithtown location.Never once have I had one single issue here in fact the service here is always very respectful and they go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. If you go to Smithtown you will most likely be greeted with the exact opposite service. Do yourself a favor, don't go to Smithtown.”

“This is the best Post Office in Suffolk! Never a long line; the staff is very efficient. They respect your time, and know you have to get back to work. Additionally, they are always helpful and polite. If you picked the wrong box or there is better way to send it? They take the time to explain it. Plus the lobby is always CLEAN and smells fresh!”

“I do a lot of shipping here, there almost weekly, and yes sometimes the wait is longer but I’ve experienced that at many different post offices- this location is different because they work very fast to make all transactions as easy and efficient as possible- I’ve seen the staff help people out and giving customers information to make their shipping cheaper- very patient and knowledgeable, this is my number one spot for my mailing needs- I’m being totally honest, they really are great here-”

“I am writing a review simply because this is a post office and many reviews are missing the mark. This location is great, Chris and Michael are very polite and courteous! Sometimes there is a line, which is inevitable, also it stinks to have to wait a while to buy a book of stamps but I’ve adjusted and typically buy 2-3 of them at a time.
The space is always clean, they have plenty of other items in stock and my mail has never suffered delays or being lost! Again, it’s a post office, given the major macro changes in their governing bodies, perhaps any complaints should be sent there as they may help the staff who are dealing with much uncertainty.”
