Our stay at Stockade Inn was nothing short of magical. We spent two nights here for a weekend trip, and it turned into one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives—my fiancé proposed during our stay. What made it even more special was how genuinely celebrated we felt afterward. The owner, John Samutulski, personally congratulated us, which meant more than I can put into words.

The Inn doesn’t feel like a hotel at all—it feels like a home. Cozy, warm, and welcoming in every sense. The history of the building is absolutely stunning and adds such a unique charm to the entire experience. You can feel the character and care in every detail.

The staff were incredible—truly some of the nicest people we’ve ever encountered while traveling. From the on-site coffee shop to the yoga offerings, everything felt thoughtfully curated and centered around making guests feel comfortable and cared for.

Our trip to New York was amazing, but a huge part of that was because of how kind, genuine, and exceptional the Stockade Inn was to us. I genuinely cannot wait to return. This was, by far, the best hotel or Airbnb experience I’ve ever had, and I will recommend it to everyone I know.”

“Such a nice hotel and close to the restaurants in the area (like Shaker and Vine). I stayed there for my birthday and they provided complimentary champagne and a nice card in the room for checkin. The views of our room were beautiful too! The desk clerk was very friendly and I recommend this place if you are in Schenectady, NY. We went downstairs for some live music too that night at Rivers Casino which was fun!”

“I'm a veteran of cheap motels, so a lot of the small stuff doesn't bother me.

My room was clean and spacious. It came with a microwave and a mini fridge. The A/C worked really well also, although the units they use can be loud.

The young man at the counter working the night shift was very chill as well. I came stumbling in after driving literally all day and I was able to get a room on the spot. I will say, I got beat up a little bit on the price, but that's what I expected when I walked into a Motel at 11:00 pm on a weekend. He also sold me some delicious sour cream and onion potato chips.

5/5 I will use this location again the next time I am in the area.”

“The staff were kind and helpful. They explained the rules clearly, as we were staying with dogs. The rooms are decent size and have all the amenities. Our room was mostly clean, they did miss a few wrappers under the night stand. I enjoyed the artwork.”
