“Stayed in room 226 on 8/7-8/8. Room was clean, queen bed was comfy, air conditioning worked awesome on warm humid night. We didn't make reservations just walked in a asked if they had a room. Front desk clerk was efficient, friendly and helpful. Safe area well light parking lot.
This Best Western is older than the surrounding other hotels. It is priced extremely fairly. The place across the street wanted 550 plus tax for their cheapest room. This was only 214 plus tax. We only stayed one night as we are road tripping around New York State. If you're looking for a safe, clean, and affordable place to stay this hits all those. Remember it's not new.”

Our stay at Stockade Inn was nothing short of magical. We spent two nights here for a weekend trip, and it turned into one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives—my fiancé proposed during our stay. What made it even more special was how genuinely celebrated we felt afterward. The owner, John Samutulski, personally congratulated us, which meant more than I can put into words.
The Inn doesn’t feel like a hotel at all—it feels like a home. Cozy, warm, and welcoming in every sense. The history of the building is absolutely stunning and adds such a unique charm to the entire experience. You can feel the character and care in every detail.
The staff were incredible—truly some of the nicest people we’ve ever encountered while traveling. From the on-site coffee shop to the yoga offerings, everything felt thoughtfully curated and centered around making guests feel comfortable and cared for.
Our trip to New York was amazing, but a huge part of that was because of how kind, genuine, and exceptional the Stockade Inn was to us. I genuinely cannot wait to return. This was, by far, the best hotel or Airbnb experience I’ve ever had, and I will recommend it to everyone I know.”

“I enjoyed staying here. The hotel is clean and accommodating. The food was good. The staff were all very friendly, professional, polite, and attentive. We utilized the super convenient and free shuttle service. I very much recommend using thr shuttle service.
There seemed to be a high level of attention to detail ingrained in their work culture. I think the excellent service is what made my experience so great. I very much appreciated the protien smoothies on the breakfast menu from Mr. D's. I wish more hotels offered them. The bar is very updated, with highly attentive bartenders. The atmosphere is very quaint, which makes the vibe unique and fun. I loved the koi pond, the inside courtyards, fountains, and live plants throughout the facility. The hotel is close to the train station, Albany Airport, and the capital building.”

“great spot for the wedding venue right across. run by what seems to be an afghani family/relatives which is nice. a literal crosswalk to the venue with good parking.
the rooms were average (as any other hotel of this caliber), comfy, clean and carpeted. the temperature can get as cold as you desire for the two bed option. there's three floors in the building. at reception theres a nice lobby that also serves as their breakfast lobby.
the bathroom had nice soap. the water pressure was good and gets hot, although i used it at 12 am.
the breakfast (weekend runs from 7 am to 10 am i believe) options reminded me of my amazing college buffet dining hall (scrambled eggs, cubed cut home fried potatoes, pancake machine that puts out two pancakes in a minute, honey nut cheerios, cheerios, cinnamon toast crunch, three flavored water drinks, a nice creamy munchkin, mini muffins, yogurt machine, mixed tropical fruit station, bacon bits, sausage links, cheese toppings, bagels, toast, silk milk) the breakfast options were quite a lot.
the gym is more than i expected with free weights up to 60 lbs and then one of those all in one gym machines with straight and rope handles, so i was shocked. there were 3 treadmills and a bicycle machine i think, i forgot because i was so impressed they had a versatile gym machine that pretty much no other hotel bothers to spend money on. there are towels to use too.
if you check in early, it seems they make you hold 50$ to the company you purchased through (expedia in my case i believe).
the only thing that was weak was the wifi which is the only reason i brought the service down a star. i would do half a star down if i could though. but i mean a picture would take it's time to load on instagram type of speed, which is not modern and we were in the second floor in the middle of the hallway. not sure why wifi was that bad there. forget uploading pictures into google photos with their wifi either otherwise on the laptop things seemed smooth enough for basic use. the password is a five digit number that comes with your room card.
overall a great hotel”

“We’ve been to this hotel a couple times and it’s always been great! We recently had a visit, had a small issue and the General Manager Sheila dealt with the issue immediately. She not only fixed it but went above for us. She was very nice and professional. We will stay here every time we’re in the area and recommend it to others!”
“Stayed overnight on a drive north from NYC. Great rooms with solid square footage and couch, counters, fridge, coffee. I was impressed given my rate.
I will say the breakfast was tasty but the common are was very messy and dirty tables and dishes were in every direction. Seems the staff are overworked or not organized.”

The close proximity to the airport and the Northway makes it a perfect place to stay when you have an early morning flight.
The hotel bar was great, we had a great conversation with the bar tender and a couple of local regulars.
The room was clean, well stocked, and in generally good repair except for a bit of moisture damage in bathroom.”

“Such a nice hotel and close to the restaurants in the area (like Shaker and Vine). I stayed there for my birthday and they provided complimentary champagne and a nice card in the room for checkin. The views of our room were beautiful too! The desk clerk was very friendly and I recommend this place if you are in Schenectady, NY. We went downstairs for some live music too that night at Rivers Casino which was fun!”

“This was my first time at this hotel and for $160 for one night for a room with a jacuzzi I was expecting it to be cleaned at least. The service at the front desk was fine and the appearance of the lobby was very clean. I was upset to see how dirty the jacuzzi was, as if it was just used with dirt rings and hair visible. I had to purchase my own cleaning supplies and clean it thoroughly before using. This was unacceptable for just wanting a relaxing night.”

Safety: lots of Camara's on parking lot and entrance.
