“On Feb 4 around 11:45am, I entered Home Depot Cicero in search of a product recommended by my plumber. I spoke with the female assoc who was at the entrance, and she not only told me where to find it but walked me to the exact location. We talked about how much I needed, and she plucked the larger (heavier) bottle off the shelf to carry it to the front - right to customer service (which was on the side on thr store where I parked). She then went one step further and asked the CS gentleman to carry it out to my car for me. I knew I was not feeling well, but the perceptiveness of the young lady was beyond expectation. I was remiss in getting their names, so I hope the scheduler or manager can determine who they are and extend my gratitude for their kindness sometimes not found in our world today. Thank you.”

“Ricardo was awesome to work with. My fiancé and I went in looking for an air nailer and quickly realized how overwhelming all the options were, we were honestly about to make the wrong purchase. We asked Ricardo to unlock one so we could buy it, and he stepped in right away.
After asking a few questions about our project, he quickly realized it wasn’t the right tool for what we needed and saved us from making a bad purchase. He explained everything in a way that actually made sense and guided us to the correct nailer. On top of that, he made sure we had everything else we needed to get started, things we definitely would’ve missed on our own.

The new manager has made this location even better and he has no problem taking 10 or 15 minutes of his time to explain something to you. “I don’t usually go out of my way to write reviews for big chain stores, but this one deserves it because of a standout employee. The gentleman who runs the kids club is absolutely incredible. I didn’t catch his name, but his energy and genuine care for the kids really made an impression on me.
I brought my kids, including my older two who are at that “too cool for everything” stage, and somehow he managed to pull them in and keep them engaged the entire time. That’s not easy to do. He made the whole experience fun, interactive, and welcoming for everyone.
You can tell he truly enjoys what he does and wants the kids to have a great time. That kind of enthusiasm and effort is rare to come by these days, especially in a retail setting. Honestly, I would come back just for the experience he creates.
I hope management recognizes what a difference he makes—employees like that are hard to find and even harder to replace.”

“My brother-in-law and I stopped in tonight regarding an issue with a gallon of paint we had purchased. After beginning our project, we quickly realized the color was significantly different from what we expected.
When we brought the issue to Customer Service, the gentleman assisting us immediately denied a refund because the paint had been opened. While we understood that policy may limit refund options, no alternative solutions were offered, and we were simply referred to a manager who was assisting another customer. Unfortunately, there was no apology, explanation, or attempt to help resolve the situation, and the interaction came across as dismissive.
Thankfully, a wonderful employee from the Paint Department, Maryjane, stepped in to help. She listened to our concerns, offered to correct the paint at no charge, and got us exactly what we needed. We weren’t looking for a refund, just the simply wanted the correct color so we could finish our project. Maryjane handled the situation professionally, kindly, and without making us feel like we had done anything wrong.
While waiting for the corrected paint, we noticed the manager and the Customer Service associate taking photos of each other behind the counter, which only reinforced the impression that professionalism was lacking.
I’m giving this location 4 stars solely because of Maryjane. She completely turned the experience around and saved our project.”
