“This place is exactly what a local hardware store should be. The staff greets you when you walk in, asks if you need help, and actually walks you to the item instead of vaguely pointing somewhere into aisle 14 like it’s a scavenger hunt.
Everyone is friendly, helpful, and approachable, which honestly makes spending money here way too easy. “Take my money” pretty much sums it up.

“Great budget selection of tools, shop supplies, and accessories. Store staff is excellent. Recommend reading reviews of more expensive tools before buying. Some are hit or miss. Also, can be difficult to find items as everything is competing for space.”

“I went in today to buy a red and white polka dot welders hat. When the staff asked if it was for me I burst out crying…I explained that my dad always wore one and we were wearing them for his funeral. The two employee were so sweet and insisted I not pay. Fast forward two hours I go back because we decided we needed two more for the great grandkids. I brought two up to the counter. The man said go get them all. I told him I wanted to pay He again insisted I take them all. Needless to say I cried again.

“You will get help here, you just need to find the right person to help you. Overall it is a store that I like and recommend. Except for one time the manager did not really help, Colony Hardware is the store to go to.”

“My brother-in-law and I stopped in tonight regarding an issue with a gallon of paint we had purchased. After beginning our project, we quickly realized the color was significantly different from what we expected.
When we brought the issue to Customer Service, the gentleman assisting us immediately denied a refund because the paint had been opened. While we understood that policy may limit refund options, no alternative solutions were offered, and we were simply referred to a manager who was assisting another customer. Unfortunately, there was no apology, explanation, or attempt to help resolve the situation, and the interaction came across as dismissive.
Thankfully, a wonderful employee from the Paint Department, Maryjane, stepped in to help. She listened to our concerns, offered to correct the paint at no charge, and got us exactly what we needed. We weren’t looking for a refund, just the simply wanted the correct color so we could finish our project. Maryjane handled the situation professionally, kindly, and without making us feel like we had done anything wrong.
While waiting for the corrected paint, we noticed the manager and the Customer Service associate taking photos of each other behind the counter, which only reinforced the impression that professionalism was lacking.
I’m giving this location 4 stars solely because of Maryjane. She completely turned the experience around and saved our project.”

“Tools aren't super expensive, I buy my lawnmowers here every 3 years. Bought one for the oldest kid for Father's day. Still work's like a dream. Prices are up, but they are up everywhere. And I would pay more for products that are made in America with American sourced and built parts.
My wife bought a Genesis special edition drill and lost the charger. The manager is giving me a free charger. I'll keep buying our tools and mowers here. But I'll keep buying my Craftsman tools for the car and heavy-duty work. Mowers, as long as they're gas, I'll buy them here. Snowblowers I will buy.at home Depot But doors, toilet seats, here.”
