Henry Loves Betty
16 1st St, TroyI cannot say enough amazing things about the Henry Loves Betty team! Over the last 3-4 years, we’ve utilized just about every service they offer- daycare, training, dog walks, grooming, boarding and social club (a genius feature). Our little corgi has been going toHenry Loves Betty since she was about a year old and she feels safe, is always exceedingly well cared for and I know they are sneaking in training sessions because she is so polite, responsive and social. We’ve moved 2 hours away and still try to bring our dog for grooming, boarding and daycare a few times a month. This team truly cares deeply for your pet and with our busy schedules we our so grateful that they are responsive and really work to help us manage our schedules without compromising quality of care for our fur baby.Social club has helped make Peach a braver pup and explore more! I love seeing her play in puddles, and become less adverse to water and rain because she’s had outdoor adventure fun with other dogs. Also, the community of pet parents and owners are so wonderful! Doggy birthdays, celebrating wins and just saying hi and asking about your pets when they see them. I can’t rave enough about the rest of the crew. Thank you so so so much

Healthy Pet Center
237 N Greenbush Rd, TroyIt was my first time at the pet store. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I needed that being a first-time dog owner. The store had a wide variety of food products, pet toys, clothing, leashes, and every day pet care. I loved that they had sample food for my dog I was able to take for free. Either way, they do have a return policy in place if my dog didnt like the food. They even have a groomer that works independently from the store. You can call and make an appointment. Great place for my dog and I to visit.

Pet Care

Brunswick Veterinary Hospital
1632 NY-7, TroyWhen I moved to Troy, I took my elderly cat to Brunswick animal hospital and was incredibly impressed by their kindness and gentleness with her. She does really poorly in cars and arrived traumatized and covered in feces (she poops herself in car drives). I did not bring her back for several years due to her car stress and her good health. They were very understanding, unlike her previous vet who kept pressuring me to bring her in for shots and check ups even though I explained how stressful car drives are and that I’d prefer to only bring her in for health issues, not wellness visits.
She showed signs of urinary distress recently and I called them. They talked to me for a long time, explaining all of the options and what could possibly be going wrong with her. They suggested a calming spray for her cat carrier. I brought her in (the spray worked great and she was pretty chill the whole drive). When we arrived, everyone was so kind and informative. The receptionist was very sweet and asked how the spray had worked, the tech was gentle and sweet with my kitty and Dr. Grant was informative and thorough.
Cinnamon is doing way better and I am so grateful for the compassionate and excellent care she received. I cannot recommend Brunswick highly enough!! I’ve had pets my whole life and they are the best vet I’ve ever been to. Also, their facility is clean and comfortable.

Miller Animal Hospital
380 N Greenbush Rd, TroyGreat doctors! Amazing care! Front desk could use some bringing in tactfulness…when you call to schedule they shame you for not being able to get in the next day…I understand it’s important for my animal but it’s also important for my animals owner to have a job…having some awareness and not shaming a good pet owner is literally basic decency…

Mumu's Cafe
2207 15th St, TroyThe food is delicious! Better as a takeout place as the space is small and there is not public restroom.

O'Malley's Oven
455 Fulton St, TroyPerfectly baked pastries with unexpected and delicious flavors. We tried the maple tart, crème puff, donut, and oatmeal raisin cookie for a sweet treat. The tart was addictive and loved the subtle almond flavor in the puff as well as the light lemon icing on the perfectly shaped donut ?. The oatmeal raisin cookie was “delightful and wholesome” according to my husband. Would post photos if we hadn’t ate them all so fast ?

Nighthawks
461 Broadway, TroyI have been to Nighthawks a bunch of times over the years- for both dinner and brunch. They are probably one of the best and most innovative brunch places around with very interesting flavor combinations. They are a farm to table restaurant with everything fresh made. Dinner has always been great every time I have gone and if I am not feeling what is up on the menu board I just order one of the best cheeseburgers around, which is always available. You really can never go wrong there. The cocktails are also amazing as well. It's a small space and used to be first come first serve, but they now take reservations. My only complaint is in the colder months if you sit by the door it's very chilly as they only have a curtain separating the front door from the dinning area.

Bespoki Bowl
122 4th St, TroyReally good poke (and especially the rice is much better than other Capital Region places) but also really good Korean food like tteokbokki. My partner alway gets a spam musubi. Definitely short on atmosphere since it is hole-in-the-wall, but they are always really friendly. Also, much better than the mid poke at River St Poke Bar and the other places that are owned by the same person.

Liza's of Troy
53 3rd St, TroyLiza's is one of my favorites for lunch in downtown Troy. The menu has healthy and tasty choices made with fresh ingredients. Service has always been friendly and fast, yet you will not be rushed as you sit and savor the dishes. The owner Liza who has created the menu can usually be found working at the restaurant, making sure you will return again. And I suggest you do return, so you can sample her creativity in the kitchen!

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que
377 River St, TroyFrom start to finish, our entire experience at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was outstanding. We had appetizers, drinks, entrees, dessert, and our check—all in under an hour without ever feeling rushed. The staff was incredibly friendly, efficient, and genuinely kind, which made the visit even better.
The food was amazing across the board, but the collard greens are truly to die for, and the fried green tomatoes are what keep me coming back again and again.
Consistently great service and delicious food—we’ll absolutely be returning. Highly recommend!

501 Broadway, TroyOne of the best sushi/hibachi in the area. We have tried most of the ones in the area, this was ADORABLE, very clean, amazing food, for a great price, we had more than enough to eat, and it was delicious, and fresh. 10/10, try it, you will love it
