Pet Stores & Supplies

Healthy Pet Center
237 N Greenbush Rd, TroyIt was my first time at the pet store. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I needed that being a first-time dog owner. The store had a wide variety of food products, pet toys, clothing, leashes, and every day pet care. I loved that they had sample food for my dog I was able to take for free. Either way, they do have a return policy in place if my dog didnt like the food. They even have a groomer that works independently from the store. You can call and make an appointment. Great place for my dog and I to visit.

Henry Loves Betty
16 1st St, TroyI cannot say enough amazing things about the Henry Loves Betty team! Over the last 3-4 years, we’ve utilized just about every service they offer- daycare, training, dog walks, grooming, boarding and social club (a genius feature). Our little corgi has been going toHenry Loves Betty since she was about a year old and she feels safe, is always exceedingly well cared for and I know they are sneaking in training sessions because she is so polite, responsive and social. We’ve moved 2 hours away and still try to bring our dog for grooming, boarding and daycare a few times a month. This team truly cares deeply for your pet and with our busy schedules we our so grateful that they are responsive and really work to help us manage our schedules without compromising quality of care for our fur baby.Social club has helped make Peach a braver pup and explore more! I love seeing her play in puddles, and become less adverse to water and rain because she’s had outdoor adventure fun with other dogs. Also, the community of pet parents and owners are so wonderful! Doggy birthdays, celebrating wins and just saying hi and asking about your pets when they see them. I can’t rave enough about the rest of the crew. Thank you so so so much

Pet Care

Brunswick Veterinary Hospital
1632 NY-7, TroyBrunswick Vet Hospital has been absolutely incredible in taking care of my dog, Goofy. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about the animals they care for. Goofy was a little nervous at first, but their gentle and compassionate approach put him at ease right away. The veterinarians took the time to thoroughly explain every part of his treatment, addressing all of my concerns with patience and clarity. What really stood out was how much they genuinely cared about Goofy’s well-being, treating him as if he were their own pet. The level of professionalism combined with their personal touch made all the difference. Thanks to their expertise and attentive care, Goofy is back to his energetic self, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend Brunswick Vet Hospital to any pet owner looking for a caring, skilled, and compassionate team that truly puts pets first. They’re simply the best!

Miller Animal Hospital
380 N Greenbush Rd, TroyWhen our dog collapsed in the park, we had no idea what was wrong. Miller got us in quickly and got to the bottom of his heart condition. They provided excellent care and were honest about his prognosis, without pushing us to make any decisions regarding his care. The doctors and staff at Miller always went the extra mile to take our phone calls or get back to us quickly if we left a voicemail. We are so appreciative to have worked with Miller Animal Hospital.

Troy Veterinary Hospital
840 Hoosick Rd, TroyWe had to put our 15 yr old cat to rest. We had never been to this vet before as we recently moved to Troy. I must say, their level of compassion and respect is unbelievable. About a week after I picked up his ashes, I received a card from the them that everyone in the office had signed. I never in all my years of saying goodbye to beloved pets have I received a sympathy card from the vet staff. I look forward to a long relationship with this vet with our other 2 boys. If I could give 100 stars I would!

No Fun
275 River St, TroyAt no fun I've seen local avant garde comedy, new wave industrial goth, blistering blue grass, violin loop epics reminiscent of a scene from eyes wide shut. I've seen astrology disco parties(with a rotating astrological themes and costumes), I've seen local thrash metal bands cutting their teeth, I've seen anime bimbo parties(exactly how it sounds), I've seen couples two step the night away to straight laced country stylings, I've seen psychedelic rock bands from Japan, a Woodstock 99 cover show(yea, that one), I've seen Zardoz(yea that one), I've had a beer in a quiet space with dear friends. I've seen a band called cumgirl8, one called 'a place to bury strangers', and i've seen the medicine singers hammer rhythms into deer skin drums they tanned themselves. Ive seen afro beat, yung fredo, folk punk, glitch core, butt rock, neu metal, soft folk, blues, soul, funk, and weirdly enough a magician once. I've seen locals take the stage and take the plunge and risk baring their soul before the town. I've seen suuns rise in honey and moons come up in wine. I saw death become of light and life become of fire. I saw it from my hiding place within the quagmire.
GREAT VENUE. Just come on the right night for you. Look up the schedule(theyre active on instagram), listen to the acts, youre guaranteed to find a night fit for you. Tonight I saw Jaws and the crowd was wild.

Oh Corn! Arepas
429 River St, TroyWhat a great experience at Oh Corn in Troy! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was fantastic. The food was a major highlight; every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The live music by Adam Gerstenbeeger (@gbergerlife) was the cherry on top. Their performance was so good and really added to the fun energy of the place. If you're looking for great food and a lively atmosphere with awesome music, you have to check this place out.

The Hill Beer & Wine Garden
379 Congress Street, TroySuch a cool spot! The setting is very unique, it feels tucked away and historic. You walk in through an alley and then climb a stone staircase. It's very rustic feeling. The outdoor space is perfect for chatting over drinks. We were there near sunset and the ambiance was so nice. Really good beer, wine and cocktail selections. We also tried a couple of the appetizers. Everything was yummy and the food came out quickly! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again, I think it may be one of my new favorites.

Nighthawks
461 Broadway, TroyI have been to Nighthawks a bunch of times over the years- for both dinner and brunch. They are probably one of the best and most innovative brunch places around with very interesting flavor combinations. They are a farm to table restaurant with everything fresh made. Dinner has always been great every time I have gone and if I am not feeling what is up on the menu board I just order one of the best cheeseburgers around, which is always available. You really can never go wrong there. The cocktails are also amazing as well. It's a small space and used to be first come first serve, but they now take reservations. My only complaint is in the colder months if you sit by the door it's very chilly as they only have a curtain separating the front door from the dinning area.

Bespoki Bowl
122 4th St, TroyReally good poke (and especially the rice is much better than other Capital Region places) but also really good Korean food like tteokbokki. My partner alway gets a spam musubi. Definitely short on atmosphere since it is hole-in-the-wall, but they are always really friendly. Also, much better than the mid poke at River St Poke Bar and the other places that are owned by the same person.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que
377 River St, TroyPhenomenal barbecue place! Highly recommend the ribs & chicken, the brisket was just okay. Since the last time we came they changed their bbq fried rice for the much much worse. Took awhile to get our food (~45 minutes) and got overcharged on a few items.

Hibachi Station
501 Broadway, TroyI ordered a hibachi chicken, which allows you to choose fried rice and fried noodles freely. I chose fried rice. You can also choose half fried rice and half fried noodles, which is simply great. The portion is large, and the chicken is surrounded by juice and is simply delicious. The staff is very kind and warm. Come and try something else next time. They also have sushi and poke bowl.

little pecks
211 Broadway, TroyThe interior and back patio of this spot are very nice and reflect a rustic vibe with the exposed brick, but the disco ball, hanging lights and plants add both joy and comfort to the ambiance here as well. The spicy rigatoni pasta is delicious!
