“We were here in early November for a family member’s wedding reception. It’s a lovely venue, with a nice outdoor courtyard area that is great in good weather—it was sunny and in the 70’s the day we were there. There are two buildings: one was a large banquet style space where the reception we attended was held. There’s also a large old house with a pleasant veranda and some very pretty rooms, including one with a piano.
Food was very good—there was a hot buffet for most guests, but my son and I have food allergies. The bride let the planner at Matthews House know about our issues well in advance. When we arrived, the event hostess came to meet us personally and then brought out the chef who confirmed our issues and let us know he’d bring our food out on separate plates. It went great. I was so impressed at the extra effort they made for us, and we didn’t have any allergy or digestive issues afterwards so they definitely got the orders correct. A big thumbs up for their attention to special diets!”
“Above the ornate fireplace in one of the stately dining rooms at Macgregor Downs Country Club, you’ll find the words “Ard Choille” (pronounced R Koil). According to history, it means “to the high woods or a secret meeting place,” and was the war cry of Scotland’s MacGregor Clan. Clan Gregor is one of the oldest clans in Scotland.
As you make your way around the golf course, you’ll experience tremendous views and challenging play, regardless of your skill level. The course routing is a giant circle running clockwise around MacGregor Lake. Both nines are hilly and tree-lined and finish close to the clubhouse. On the first hole, you’ll cross MacGregor Lake and won’t face it head-on again until the 18th hole, although it does wind its way behind the fourth green.
There are several memorable holes on the golf course, but none more so than the 18th hole, which is as visually stunning as it is challenging. Tee off from an elevated tee box over the shimmering waters of MacGregor Lake; how much water is up to you. From the White Tees, the shortest carry is straight ahead - not exactly at the hole on a dogleg right par 4 - but can be the difference between hitting that Pro V1 again or fishing a new one out of your bag. This shot requires about a 165-yard carry; go straight at the green and you’ll need about a 260-yard carry to clear the water. Once you find the fairway off the tee, you’ll have a long to mid-iron into the green. It’s one of the most intimidating holes out here!
Besides golf, MacGregor Downs Country Club has several popular amenities. The Fitness Room features top-of-the-line Cybex equipment, a Bravo Trainer, and free weights. The Club has partnered with several personal trainers who can help you put together the perfect workout regimen.
Since its opening in 1967, MacGregor Downs has built a reputation as one of the most prestigious private clubs in North Carolina. Members enjoy a clan-like environment, building long-lasting relationships with other members and developing close-knit friendships. It’s one of two Concert Golf Partners properties in the area. The Club at 12 Oaks is a super family-friendly club with a championship golf course and a ton of amenities that the entire family can enjoy. And it’s a mere 20-minute drive away. I mention this because Concert Golf now offers a Premier Golf Membership that allows you and your family to take advantage of all of the amenities at both clubs for one low, monthly fee. “Cars & Coffee Morrisville is one of the best car meets in the area — and it's the real deal. Run officially in conjunction with Highway Patrol, the event is well-organized, welcoming, and surprisingly lively for an early morning meetup.
It runs from 8–11 AM, all cars are welcome, and they rotate through some really cool themes that keep things fresh every time. The variety is unreal — I spotted a Ferrari F40 a few weeks back, which says a lot about the caliber of builds that show up.
A couple of things to keep in mind: arrive early, because it fills up fast and spots go quickly once things get going. The biker crowd can also get a little rowdy at times, which is worth knowing if that's not your scene.
Overall though, it's a fantastic event with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend for any car enthusiast.”

“Building is always clean and accommodating for our group meetings. Ample kitchen and appliances available if meal prep/ area is needed. Comfortably managed our 35 or so attendees, maybe handle up to 50, but would have to check with local staff.”

“THE BEST RENTAL COMPANY! We rented a moon bounce and soft play set for my son's 1'st birthday party and it was AMAZING! The play furniture was in CLEAN & PERFECT condition, no sign of wear or over usage. The soft play furniture was high quality and CertiPUR-US certified- super important to us to not have toxins or chemicals around babies and I appreciated that this company values that as well!!! We were so impressed with delivery and set up, professional and on time! Olivia was EASY to work with and communication was 5-star service, she answered all my questions and made sure to collect all the details of my party so the items matched the theme!! Paid a deposit to hold my reservation and the balance was due 2 days before the party through a secure website. I was very satisfied with the price I paid because the product and service was AMAZING! We used the soft play area for 6m-24m and the moon bounce for the older kids up to 5 years old, total we had 7 kids. All the kids/parents loved it and I will be renting again in the future!”

“My daughters have been going to Performance Sports Gym for about 2 years now.They have also hosted 2 birthday parties for us - one in the big gym, one in the Butterfly gym. I highly recommend for birthday parties. It's nice that it is a private party, and cost is very reasonable considering. Both parties were fantastic, the kids had so much fun and the coaches were amazing.Both of my daughters have been also taking weekly classes. They look forward to their classes each week. It's been a great way for them to move their bodies and learn the basics of gymnastics.”

“The State Fair has something for everyone. It is crowded and overwhelming, especially the midway, for seniors and small children. It is good to pick and choose according to your interests and plan ahead.”
“We have been here mid-week a few times and have enjoyed our experience. The staff is always friendly, the food is decent enough for bar/bowling alley food, and prices are reasonable.
The scorekeeping equipment is modern and easy to use, the atmosphere inside is dated but fitting, and everything works as should. The only downside is the balls are very dated and worn.
There is a small arcade that offers some games and a few claw machines, but it requires you to use one of their game cards, which isn’t ideal.
Overall not a bad spot.”
“Great staff, wonderful course. The greens are always top notch. Walkable track, but don't be fooled by short yardage...this is a tough course to score on with water and hazards on every hole. All three phases of your game will be tested.”

“By far the best theater in the area! There's never a shortage on anything, the entire property - bathrooms, theater, concessions - is always clean and well cared for. Staff is helpful and always make sure we remember to get out points for our purchases. I've been to lots of theaters in the triangle area and this Cinemark is worth the drive to!”

“We hosted our milestone anniversary celebration at Curate Studio and had a fantastic experience. The owner was incredibly collaborative and worked closely with us to customize the setup exactly to our needs. Everything was ready and perfectly set up when we arrived, which made the day completely stress-free.
We had around 80 guests (close to capacity), but the space never felt crowded it’s very well laid out, spacious, and beautifully lit. Overall, a smooth and seamless experience from start to finish.
Video set up worked great and having two cordless microphones was super helpful. We could customize our bar and catering menu to our liking because of flexibility to bring in any vendors. They even have a list of recommended vendors if needed.
Highly recommend for intimate, well-planned events.”
