“I have been using First Bank (Formally Asheville Savings) since moving to WNC 20 years ago. From the very beginning I have been impressed with the customer service and personal relationship building at all of the branches I have utilized. I was incredibly impressed with the West Asheville Patton Ave branch immediately after hurricane Helene, when phones were down and vendors couldn't accept credit cards. The bank manager and employees opened the bank anyway and allowed its customers to withdraw cash (which we desperately needed) on the honor system. It just goes to show the difference between doing business in the community vs. a large corporate entity that doesn't understand the circumstances on the ground. Thank you First Bank, The Claibourne family greatly appreciates you.”
“Very happy with the care I received from the Asheville Branch on Hendersonville Road. I had to make a special trip to a TD Bank as there are no branches close to me. This branch had the best reviews of the area TD banks. The staff was very helpful - shout out to Michael Wynne and Emma for taking the time to actually listen to me. Did not get this level of caring from Corporate or a Branch in New Jersey. This level of service is severely lacking in this day and age. So happy that this branch excels in customer service.”

However, I prefer the Staff at the Branch located on Tunnel Rd. Across from the Mall. Mary that used to work at Reynolds and the Downtown Branch has Always Been My Favorite.”
“I am not special because our family had significant property losses, but because we are part of a community that weathered unimaginable loss during the hurricane. Weeks roll on without public utilities and nothing seems easy these days, so I want to express appreciation for and commend our local credit union because despite their personal losses and inability to operate normally, they helped to make my life a little easier. “Chris was what a banker should be. He basically listened to what
I was seeking to accomplish and was clear and calm about the required procedure. He was not irritated to be asked to do his job - which is to explain processes about a person's money. I needed to WIRE in a large amount from a SWISS insurance company. There is no Wells form for this. The instructions are all online for the Wells client to figure out. I just wanted confirmation I had
interpreted correctly in the WORD doc I produced, before I sent
off the Swift code, etc. (The funds had been rejected once already b/c of routing misinformation I had received at another Wells bank).
In my dealings with Weaverville Wells Fargo, the officer was irritated and curt, as if, how could I possibly think to use the bank's routing # as part of the process, etc. Because it seems logical? 1)San Fran Main Wells to 2)NC Wells to 3)Indv. Acct.
No. It's 1)San Fran Wells to 3)Indv Acct. That can be said politely and clearly. It's not an emotional matter. Nothing to be irritated with a customer about - who's trying to type up their OWN form to bring a large amount of money to Wells to use. The officer should be thankful for the money.
I know what the 1 star reviews are talking about. Training ONLY creates employees who CAN'T 'explain' anything. They just know rules, but get irritated to explain anything. That kind of attitude wants the money, but not the client. Clients are too much trouble to be courteous or helpful to. Chris isn't like that. He's good.”
“I was with Nationwide for 30 years and they kept increasing my rates by absolutely ridiculous amounts every year (no points, no accidents, no tickets.)
I switched homeowners and auto over to this Farm Bureau agency (Cody Jones) and my premiums dropped almost in half!
I am happy with the agent, the agency, and their customer service folks and am glad I made the switch.”
