“Amazing space and community. I attended a drop in session while visiting Asheville. The equipment was nice, the couch was skilled, and the other members made me feel right at home. I highly recommend dropping in if you’re in town, or joining if you’re a local.”

“My husband and I are travel nurses and did 13 week contracts at the local hospital. After trying a few CrossFit gyms in the community we decided on bccf. From our very first workout there we felt right at home! The community is so welcoming and supportive and the owner Dave is very kind! We already miss all you guys and anytime we are back in Asheville better believe we are dropping in!”

“The entire organization of the YMCA is deeply impressive to me. That they have created a facility where all walks of life can come and feel safe and free to move their bodies as they please. The Reuters location is our preference over the downtown location, which is closer to us, however, we appreciate the cleanliness of Reuters, the spaciousness of the workout room and all that they have to offer. What a gift from God that the YMCA exists.”

“I’ve been a member now for almost a year and started coming to the Asheville studio beginning of this year. The coaches are amazing. The workouts are challenging and different every day. They’ve been instrumental in my weight loss journey over the past two years, helping me not only gain muscle, but also improve my cardiovascular. I used to hate running and not be a runner but now I love it and was able to run my first 5K last year. This will not have been possible without the help of OTF. Marlene and all the coaches are truly amazing and supportive. Definitely come in and give it a try!”

“Came on a Saturday morning to get some information and take a tour- and Julie and Joy at the downstairs front desk were very helpful! Was excited to see the equipment in the multipurpose room, as well as to find all the natural lighting in most of the upstairs studios! Can’t wait to come back to this location- really appreciated the warm and friendly atmosphere Julie and Joy brought!”

“$20 8 am drop in class was a good experience. I’ve only been doing CrossFit for about 6 months so I need a lot of coaching and demonstration and I got it when I asked. Friendly staff and dogs at front desk. Equipment is more modern than my home gym, a lot of space, open gym available for a lot of hours and variety of class times”

“Don’t live in Asheville, in town to visit friends. They let me get a day pass for one work out. The equipment was good and staff were very friendly. Thomas in particular was great!!”

“My friend and I wanted a wellness day to enjoy a sauna so we did a day pass and it was AMAZING. The front desk employee (his name is Noble) was very helpful and made the best shakes for us after our sauna visit. We highly recommend the Racquet Club South”

“Literally the best gym I’ve ever went to in my entire life. Tons of machines for everything all quality equipment. Old school body building vibe. They even have a floor dedicated to power lifting style training. Truly has something for everyone here. Goated lighting, great environment, affordable. 10/10 would come again.”

“I read an article about this gym recently where they describe their business model as centering around community. I've been going here for six months or so, and I like it. I like it a lot. I enjoy coming here because the workouts are hard and that's what I'm looking for. I like the trainers. They help me with my form without making me feel like an idiot because I'm not doing it right -- shout out to Mark who has always been kind and helpful. But I have never felt a sense of community here. Other people don't talk to me, or make me feel included. There are people who are obviously long-timers who know each other but make no effort to reach out to new people. Someone cheered me on the other day when I had to stop running and walked -- I think it was the first time anyone had done that. I'm not sure why they bill themselves as community based. What exactly are they doing to intentionally build community?”

“I'm thrilled that I found this gym. I, somewhat begrudgingly, started weightlifting for all of the incredible perimenopausal health benefits and I'm so glad I did. I do the strength & conditioning classes 3x/week and have been amazed at the insane level of progress I've made in how much I can lift (and how good it feels!!) because of the way they structure the workouts over time. They get me to lift smart without me having to do any of the mental work or planning. I just show up and do what they say and it works really, really well. I always feel confident to ask for modifications if needed, but often they present multiple modifications as they're expertly breaking down all of the moves for every workout. The community there is fantastic, too. There's very little judgement, weird heteronormative standards, or toxic gym culture. I've met incredible people at the gym. The trainers are amazing with a special shoutout to Shane for being consistently awesome and a big part of why I keep showing up! I love this gym!!”

“My boyfriend and I are contract healthcare workers in the area and were looking for a temporary gym. The staff has been very accommodating to our situation and got us a great rate for the length of our stay. One of the gentleman that runs the place owns a very cute and friendly doggie named Captain and he will greet you when you walk in the door or you may see him run by during one of your sets. It is a great place, very welcoming. Would recommend to anyone!”

“This is my favorite Y in the wncymca area.
The deep water fitness class lead by Amy Leader has literally changed my life. My health has improved SO much. My health providers are all so supportive of the health benefits I have gained from Amy’s leadership.

It’s been my experience this is the most diverse Y. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and supportive. There is a true sense of community and folks are authentically happy.
5 starts.
Bravo.”

“The pool is tiny and difficult to book but great for PT. The gym and locker rooms are small but very nice and PT friendly. I’ve had very mixed results with therapists. They charge a LOT. If you have insurance it’s okay, but wow. I don’t know how the insurance companies pay that much for a couple of exercises with no access to the gym. I don’t think I’d go there for PT unless I needed aquatic therapy.”

“Great private gym if your objective is working out and strength training. It's a great facility with all the equipment needed to get yourself in shape without the glam and drama of the mega gyms. It's well maintained and always clean.”

“I am so happy I joined this gym. I had to leave this review specifically for the trainer, Steve. I genuinely look forward to his classes every week. Steve takes his role seriously, constantly teaching, encouraging, and challenging everyone. He is the main reason I've finally stuck with a gym, and what I've learned from his classes has made even my solo workouts so much more effective. The entire staff is always so kind and helpful, and the gym is consistently clean.”
