“If there were a six star rating I would leave that, and I am NOT an easy wine customer. I am picky when it comes to wine and spirits stores because they're often understocked or filled with weird bottles only the staff wants to buy. But Table Wine is near perfection. I LOVE this shop. Great selection of wines from all over the world. Everything from the quintessential Cali cabs to the most esoteric wines you've never even heard of but will be glad you tried. With the staff to guide you, too, without egos or pretention. They often have bottles open for tasting and brief education, as well. Peg is the BEST.”

“I attended a wine tasting here that was won at an auction. My friend won, and the experience was delightful, and doubly delightful, as the item was donated to the Asheville Music School. Full disclosure: I am a board member there. So thank you so much to Metro Wines for the donation, but this will be a review of my experience, unbiased, regardless of whether the experience was donated, because my friend did pay for the experience. She just happened to invite me!This was one of the most delightful evenings we have had in Asheville a long time. I’ve attended so very many wine tastings, having lived in San Francisco for 10 years and frequenting the wine country on many weekends. In addition, we have friends in Long Island, and we go to the wineries up there, and we have been to Châteauneuf de Pape region and had wine tastings in France, and even enjoy the North Carolina Vineyards, because they are fun with their muscadines and scuppernongs and their small town goodness.I’ve also attended tastings with food pairings and tastings where the experience is focused on a particular producer or maker, or even varietal. An evening with Antinori or Caymus for example. So I guess I’m trying to say this was not my first rodeo.Somehow, though, Andy Hale at Metro managed to make the whole experience feel fresh and interesting. He chose some really unusual varietals and smaller boutique Vineyards and wine makers, and as such, created a delightful experience of wines that I normally would not have sought. So kudos to his choices, but also kudos to his presentation, his sense of humor, his style. We are a group of Gen Xers, a bit jaded, still hopeful. We are artists and community activists, readers and poets, tech nerds and lobbyists. We have all lived in Asheville for decades. The “newcomer“ having lived here 17 years. Together the eight of us collectively have lived in Asheville over 160 years. I know that’s an odd way to put it, but we all have so much history in this town. That said, we can be a bit rowdy, sassy, interruptive, etc. So Andy handled that element as well. His sense of humor matched ours, his timing matched ours. He met us where we were.I emcee a lot of of the events, and I’m on mic a lot, and I am a semi-retired college professor, and I understand if you’ve got a crowd/room that is talkative, it’s difficult to capture their attention and still be interesting. Andy managed to do this with grace and humor, and he still managed to educate us on a lot of the wines. He was a perfect fit for our group. Also, at a lot of past wine tastings, often the same information is recycled over and over again. Not so here. Andy’s stories were interesting, delving into the actual producers, notes on biodynamic wines, stories about the makers. My only complaint, and it’s a Picayune one, is it would be great to have just a couple of more slices of cheese. Since the cheese was pairing so beautifully with the whites at the beginning (especially the wines he introduced us to that straddled the Swiss border) everybody gobbled up their cheese on the first two tasting. Perhaps leave those cheeses out for the whites with the crackers, and then bring in something a little bit different for the reds to prevent the group from eating all of the cheese with the white pairings.Regardless, bravo Andy and Metro Wines! What a fun event! And thanks for supporting youth music education through your donation to the auction.”

“Amazing selection and the most friendly owners! I have never had the chance to really explore buying cheese outside of big chain grocery stores. The owner took the time to talk to me about what I liked, offered suggestions (with samples) and even gave us a little ice pack to keep the cheese cold for the long drive home.”

“This place ROCKS!! I LOVE what these guys & gals are doing for our community. Their ginger beer/soda/craft cocktails are all delicious and so tasty. Check out their specialty cocktails which constantly change with the seasons. Love the large, open space surrounded by pallets of cans, making you feel truly immersed in the product. The location is great and close to everything in Asheville along with plenty of parking. Do yourself a favor and do not miss this place!”

“Great hidden gem right in downtown Asheville! I stopped by here on Christmas Eve day before heading out of town- so glad they were open, needed a last minute bubbly for myself and sweet red for my coworker's hosting the next day. I walked in around 2pm and received a friendly greeting from both guys behind the counter and spent a few minutes perusing the entire store. It's so much more spacious than it looks from the outside and is split up by regions, and in the back there is a case of wines on tap, which reminds me of one of my favorite places back in Phoenix where I first saw something like that- Winston Salem Wine Market has the same feature as well! I wish I had had time to try a few samples, but now I know about it for next time! I will absolutely return here next time I visit. I ended up finding a great chilled sparkling wine and I found a sweet red for my Christmas dinner. So glad I found this spot!”

“A very pleasant cafe. I can vouch for the drip coffee and delicious lavender honey syrup. The savory danish was tasty too. I like that there is elbow room, not too tight like some cafés. Outdoor seating and pet friendly too.”

“Great wine shop off of Biltmore in downtown Asheville. Very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman helped my wife and I pick a nice affordable bottle of red wine. We were staying at a nearby hotel and wanted to buy a bottle of wine to take back to our room.Highly recommend this wine shop to anyone who loves wine and appreciates the personal touch you receive from an independently owned shop.”

“The Euro Market is probably one of the best European stores I have been in the States. It was very clean, fully stocked and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. It has a large variety of products from all over Eastern Europe, including meats (from salami, to sausages, pork loin etc) and different cheeses. Overall I had a great experience and I highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a piece of home. For sure I will visit it again soon. ?”

“This place is almost on my top five chill hangouts in Asheville. The bartenders were friendly. The ambiance was neat, they had a bunch of antique, dark wood furniture, the only thing that I disliked was the TVs. It’s a cigar lounge, a place to hangout and spend time with other connoisseurs. If you want a sports show, go to a sports bar. If they took out the TVs, this place would definitely hit my top five.”

“Truly loved our bartenders! She knew my name-which I know I was the bride but she was so sweet and it was so personal when she called me by it! I also have to say I was nervous about how the cocktails would taste as I've honestly never had a cocktail at a wedding that I would pay for. They absolutely hit the ball out of the park!!! We got soo many compliments! They did a wonderful job and the bar ran so smoothly!!! All in all so impressed!!!!- just a wee bit of advice that I think helped, we provided quality freshly squeezed lemon juice and homemade simple turbanado syrup, I do think that helped with the quality of drinks. Loved that they gave us the option to provide those. I also believe they threw in some fancy garnishes- we had some beautiful dried oranges that I know my family and I did not cut! I still can not get over how great our bartenders did!”

“We went here lastnight for my birthday. We specifically went for the sake and Ramen. It was amazing. The egg rolls were killer. The nachos were salty. The atmosphere was cozy and festive. I can't wait to go back and try more items on their menu!”

“Pretty much a standard ABC store except probably one of the larger ones in terms of supply. They have a huge selection of vodkas. Larger than some other ABC stores probably because they have the space. The staff is actually pretty knowledgeable about products and makes great recommendations. They’ve been able to provide me good advice on Tequilas when buying for a gift and scotches also for gifts. One note of warning, not all staff there wear masks and there is a sign posted explaining that they have approved medical exemptions. So if you are uncomfortable with that you might not want to use this ABC location.”

“Wow, fantastic selection of bourbon, Scotch, and regular whiskeys, for such a small town. Clean, friendly, and well organized. It looked to be a good selection of other booze but I didn't linger.”

“Food is amazing and service is efficient. Only change I would suggest is to find a way to move those corner tables away from in front of the bathroom lol, I understand the minimal space though.”

“The two women working were very helpful but, beyond this, they were so friendly - never run into this before at an ABC store... So, Thank you - for helping me with the Avion and for your kindness. Will return to this store next time I am in town”

“The staff here are the greatest. Gotta love a place where workers feel comfortable actually being humans and not a place where management forces them into a commodified personality to do the job.Oh and good selection here, in particular for some of the local stuff and gins, honest prices.”

“Holy smokes! What a wonderful bar and extremely knowledgeable bartenders. I wish I could stop there, but Tony and Nick are super friendly and make you feel at home. We tried a lot of cocktail bars in Asheville and kept going back to them for the best cocktails in town. Talk about the utmost of care and service, Kyle, the manager looked out for every need we had. We will go back every time we are in town!”

“I needed some elk, bison, and grass fed beef for a special recipe for our son. I couldn’t find the elk, but a wonderful employee, who knew exactly where everything should be, went above and beyond by taking out every package in the frozen elk row and found what I needed! Then, the young man at checkout was not only very pleasant and efficient, he actually did a perfect job of bagging the food! I had watched him bag for 2 other customers before me and he was careful with the produce and the more delicate items like eggs and bread!I wish I had paid attention to their names! This occurred on Sunday morning —the first gentleman was a tall man with light colored hair and the cashier had dark hair. I hope that management will thank them for me!”

“Very nice staff. Now if yall could please keep Cutwater Lime Margaritas and the tequila mix 6 pack or tequila palomas on the shelves, that would be amazing! The vodka ones are not as good. The tequila ones oversize because of taste and ABV is higher!”
