582 Hendersonville Rd #3, AshevilleMy dog, Rayla, and I have stopped in a few times. She loves visiting the shop. all the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Tons of food and treat options. Pawsitivity Pet Spa
1388 Patton Ave, AshevilleI was so nervous to bring my anxious rescue dog to the groomers for the first time, and we couldn't have had a better experience! Paige was patient, kind, and skilled in how she handled Penny. I am so grateful a groomer with this level of care exists in my area. It's a bit of a drive for us but 100% worth it. Penny left with an adorable bandana, fantastic fresh scent, and the softest coat I've ever felt. I didn't even know she could be puppy-soft like this! Simply magic. Hair of the Dog Pet Salon
1451 Sweeten Creek Rd, AshevilleWe love the way they cut our dog’s hair here! The staff is friendly and I can tell they actually enjoy being around the dogs.I’ll admit that the energy inside is a bit chaotic at times, but they have separate rooms available for dogs that would rather not be around the all other dogs. Usually my dog is in there with a fellow senior pup. If they didn’t have that available though I would likely not bring my sweet girl here (she’s just too old and frail). The younger pups seem to really enjoy it in the main area though! One of the best parts about this groomer is how prompt they are. I’ve only been here twice so this could change, but both times I dropped her off at about 8:30 and both times she was ready around 2:30/3:00. Obviously if you drop you’re dog off late then that would change, but we’ve had good luck here so far!

Charlotte Street Animal Hospital
208 Charlotte St, AshevilleSo happy with my puppy’s care here. Had his 4 month “well puppy” visit, as he was new to me. His breeder was a veterinarian herself, and had some specific recommendations re: vaccination schedule. Always get a prompt call back when needed.
Very satisfied with his care. More importantly he seems to be also! Many thanks from both of us!

Sweeten Creek Animal and Bird Hospital
3131 Sweeten Creek Rd, AshevilleI have been seeing Sweeten Creek Animal and Bird for medical care on my senior dog for the past 3 years. I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and professional. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, which helped keep Bone calm.
Dr. Bolt is exceptional. He took the time to thoroughly examine Bone and explain everything in detail. I appreciated the way they handled Bone with such care and patience, making sure he felt safe throughout the visit. They also provided clear and helpful advice on Bone’s diet and overall health.
I have seen several other practitioners at the office and all have been caring, communicative, flexible, knowledgeable, and honest. Special thanks to Dr. Foster for her help in Bones end of life care.
A special shout-out goes to Michelle, who always goes the extra mile for us. She remembered Bone from our previous visits and always greeted him with such warmth that he instantly felt at ease. Michelle’s attention to detail and genuine concern for Bone’s well-being are truly commendable. Whether it’s helping with scheduling, providing updates, or offering comforting words during stressful times, Michelle consistently makes our visits smooth, personable, and pleasant. Words cannot put into place how grateful I am for her assistance through the years.
It's clear that Sweeten Creek Animal and Bird prioritizes both the comfort of their patients and the quality of their care.
Overall, I highly recommend Sweeten Creek Animal and Bird to any pet owner. Their compassionate care, knowledgeable staff, and top-notch facilities make them stand out as one of the best veterinary clinics I've ever visited.

Veterinary Emergency Group
1856 Hendersonville Rd Suite F, AshevilleAfter midnight my 20 year old cat went into crisis. Dr, Bentley quickly diagnosed her trouble. She had developed a clot in her heart and a piece had broken off and traveled down her spine, paralyzing her back legs. He gave her pain medication while discussing the few options. There was only one decision to make. With great compassion and professionalism the doctor and his team guided us to the end. I will always be grateful that it was so calm and peaceful. Mountain Valley Vet Hospital
348 New Leicester Hwy, AshevilleDR McCorkle recently did dental surgery on my senior dog. The dog recovered nicely with a healthier mouth. Dr. Mc Corkle is treating my cat for blood in her urine, methodically and one step at a time, to find the real cause. I have taken her to two other clinics with no results. He discusses his treatment plans and all involved with them. He is very gentle and caring with my cat. He does not do unnecessary tests. The staff are kind and professional. I would recommend Dr McCorkle and Mountain Valley Vet Hospital to anyone wanting quality care for their pets.

Ruff Life Dog Training Services
95 Thompson St, AshevilleAfter trying out a class at Asheville Humane (nice people but way too crowded and chaotic) and meeting with another facility (way too expensive), I am so happy I found Ruff Life! After losing my sweet, very chill 14 y.o. soul mate doggie a little over a year ago, I adopted Harper, a not as chill, but just as sweet Husky mix puppy. I was not quite prepared for the energy and challenges of a high energy, young pup, but after taking the basic Ruff Starters class with Tessa, we are on our way to a happy, peaceful life together. Other than learning basic commands, I came out of the classes feeling like I understand the dog mind much better, so when puppy antics ensue, I have the tools I need to make sure Harper and I understand each other. I loved Tessa's laid back teaching style and that the class size was small (about 6 pups). It wasn't the end of the world if Harper wasn't grasping everything right away or acting out, so I didn't feel judged for my crazy little gremlin not being quite perfect yet. Once Harper is a little older, I plan on taking another class or two. For now, I am continuing to work on the basics and each day gets better and better, thanks to Tessa and her team. Thank you, Ruff Life!

WNC Pet Care LLC
94 Aurora Dr, AshevilleMy first time using them and it was fantastic. Great communication and lots of pictures, really eased my worries about leaving my stable but sick cat. The owner even came to feed her in the thick of a winter storm because she only eats wet food. The team also readied my pipes for the winter storm, and spread blankets out for the cat in case the house lost power and temps dropped. I’m extremely happy with this service and will use them again for sure

Pawsies Pet Sitting of East Asheville
45 Scenic Dr, AshevilleFrom the moment I connected with Raina I knew she would be a good fit. I reached out to her based on reviews and I am so glad I did. My trip was over 2 months out but Raina came by to meet my dog and get a sense of whether this would be a good fit for both of us. When it came closer to my trip Raina reached out to confirm and to do a follow up visit so that my dog wouldn't be surprised when she came o stay with her. They again hit it off and I felt very comfortable leaving my dog. Raina followed up daily and sent me pictures which I really appreciated. I could tell she really cared and took great care of my dog. So I highly recommend Raina. She is very caring, thoughtful and reliable and will absolutely be my go to whenever I have to leave my dog. Thank you Raina! Archetype Brewing
265 Haywood Rd, AshevilleMy spouse and I had an amazing time hosting our rehearsal dinner this past Friday at Archetype! We were able to reserve tables a few months in advance and set up a tab for our party when we got there. Ordered pizzas from Pizza Mind for dinner and they were ready super fast and were delicious. Great variety of beers, cocktails, wine, and non alcoholic options--definitely something for everybody. The space is super chill and welcoming. All-gender restrooms and an overall LGBT-friendly vibe. Also...lots of dogs! As for the people, Corina and Liam were extremely helpful and responsive during the planning process, and Liam was on site during our time and ready to help with anything we needed. He and the rest of the staff kept us updated on how far we were from spending the minimum amount so we could get our money's worth with drinks and merch. All the bartenders were awesome--shout out to Sky! Definitely would suggest this place, whether for a party or just a chill night out.

Mosaic Café
1 Town Square Blvd Suite 150, AshevillePros: cute cafe, lots of food and drink options. Chai latte was superb.\n\nCons: dirty table. The guy taking my order is chewing, eating something. That's not pleasant, nor professional. I asked for a wet rag so I could wipe down the table; it was filthy. Female employee seemed put out but did come and wipe down the table and left it completely wet. Not nice to have a wet table like that so I dried it myself with napkins. \n\nWeird exchange with 2 male staff whilst paying: I asked if there was an additional cost for paying with my credit card as opposed to cash. (There was no sign at the register and I'm finding this is happening more where the merchant is charging their customers the 3% that the credit card companies charge them. They're passing that charge to the customer)\nThe guy said yes they do, and I said OK, I'll pay cash but normally there's a sign indicating that and he responded that they've been doing it for 30 years! Very peculiar. Made no sense. Moving on. \n\nI had half a sandwich/salad combo. Spicy california BLT. wasn't given a choice of bread. No problem. It was good but the bacon was black from being overcooked. Salad was very delicious!\n\nFriends had breakfast burritos and they both said it was mediocre.\nI'd go back and try other things as they seemed very appealing based on the menu.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue
31 Glendale Ave, AshevilleBrother Wolf is full of some of the most compassionate people I have ever met! I have not adopted from there but been volunteering for almost a year, and I love that they have so many volunteer opportunities. I usually opt for hour-long 1:1s to help socialize the dogs that have been there for a longer time or need some help warming up. They also have other great options for the dogs including play groups, doggie day outs, and group hikes. I highly encourage anyone looking to volunteer to check them out!!
Any time I have a question, observation, or a concern, the staff listen and there is no question that they have so much love in their hearts for the animals they help. A recent experience showed me that their care goes far beyond just the adoption and extends to after the animals leave Brother Wolf. It is not just an operation to place an animal and their passion is evident. I think I get far more from this volunteer experience than any of the animals do...I would be there every day and would adopt from them in a heartbeat if I could!!
