“This is an older hotel. Keep that in mind when you visit. I am currently staying here and it’s just lovely. Rooms are clean and quiet. No odd odors like some have mentioned. Haven’t visited the pool/hot tubs yet, but rec room is spacious with a TV. Nestled on the side of a mountain with great views of Grandfather Mountain. My friend’s family has been staying here for years and I have no complaints thus far. Worth checking out!”

“What a wonderful motel! Such attention to detail inside and outside of the room. The staff was personable and attentive. If you’re looking for a break from the average hotel chain and want to see how it use to be done, and done very well, we highly recommend a stay at Hidden Valley Motel. “The Pineola is THE BEST! It has the greatest vibes with the cozy rooms, Tap Room with live music and such a friendly staff. Our 2 dogs had a blast exploring the grounds and we particularly appreciated The Pineola's location-a great base for all kinds of cool day trips. We're moving to the area permanently next year and will be staying at The Pineola from time to time while our little house in the mountains is being built. We highly recommend The Pineola!
PS- although their coffee truck wasn't open while we were there this time, they serve amazing coffee!

“It felt very comfortable and it has a very "mid-cenrury" vibe which we appreciated for the fact that it was not by design, just a reflection of the era it was built. The nostalgia of being emerced in the decade of our childhood (we being Gen X's)gave way to the obvious lack of updating the decor. However; if you're going on vacation to sit in a hotel go elsewhere, because this was a clean, economic and generous sized 2 room w/2 bathroom hotel, perfect for a family that is all about..."WHAT ADVENTURE LIES OUTSIDE THE HOTEL DOOR?" As it should be! I have no problem recommending it for a perfect place to plan your next N.C. adventure.”

“It's a nice place to stay if you're looking for a place that gives you breakfast and a nice room. Though I must warn thee that thy shower is quite powerful. There is a pretty view, I think, though I can't tell because of the fog surrounding this area. Breakfast is pretty average, if I may say so myself.”
