Wine Down on Main
28 E Main St, BrevardThis is both a review and a slightly more formal “thank you” to Gary and Chef Jim and the staff at Wine Down. Last month my husband(!) and I held our reception there after a small mountaintop wedding, and I couldn’t recommend working with this crew more highly. From the attitudes of the staff on the day of our event, to the food and drink selection, to the planning process, we were blown away.
The staff truly defined hospitality with their warmth and attentiveness. No empty plates sat on tables and no empty glasses were left unfilled. I genuinely felt these folks were excited alongside us—every interaction was met with a smile.
Chef Jim is a treasure, and our custom, buffet-style menu was a combination of our ideas that he brought to fruition or suggested/amended to better fit our event style. With his wealth of experience, we were in excellent hands. Highlights were certainly the tenderloin with gorgonzola, a brilliant chicken marsala, and some really special goat cheese-tossed carrots, which my family is still talking about.
We are most indebted to Gary, our host, for working so closely with us and remaining patient with us in all our planning. He’s built a stellar bar program that we chose some of our favorite beverage selections from to tailor a limited drink menu for our day. His attention to detail and dedication make both Wine Down and its potential as an event space undeniable.

Noblebräu Brewing
183 King St, BrevardMade the trek down from Asheville to check out a new brewery (for me). I am the newest fan of Noblebrau. Not a ton of styles, since they focus on German beers, but I loved my Helles. The space is bigger than you’d expect with a stage that’s kinda inside and kinda outside. Not to mention the backyard (complete with Airstream).
We also got a pretzel with mustard and it was very nice too.
We definitely will come back
UPDATE - we came back. Beers still good but this time got the fried chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. The ginger tumeric dipping sauce made my jaw drop. We tried (and failed) to recreate it at home. Please sell this to me.

Rocky's Grill & Soda Shop
50 S Broad St, BrevardSo the family went to the town of Brevard and ended up at the ice cream parlor for lunch. The service was good and the food was amazing! (I forgot to take pictures of the meals) I the Carolina Cavier. The wife had a tuna melt, daughter had the grilled ham and cheese. The boy had the Hot Diggity Dog. All of which we would gladly get again. We also had dessert as well. I had the Rocky Malted Mountain, the daughter had White squirrel and the boy had the Devil's Courthouse. No complaints from anyone. Very good.

Love eat thai kitchen
144 E Main St, BrevardI just moved to Brevard and one of the first places I found was Love Eat Thai Kitchen. The staff are friendly, the menu is broad, and the prices are what you would expect for a decent Thai Restaurant (and they have lunch specials Mon-Fri). My favorites are the Crispy Tofu Thai Salad and the Pineapple Ginger entree. This is my #1 spot in Brevard when I'm looking for something that's going to be reasonably healthy with lots of fresh vegetables after a long day of hiking! Conveniently located downtown, so it's a perfect place for lunch while visiting and shopping all the great stores in town!

Brevard Brewing Company
63 E Main St, BrevardVery cool spot!!! We had the pleasure of passing through Brevard and it is such a cute little spot. We had picked out the brewery on the map as a reward for hiking lol. It was great. The bartender, Chris, was wonderful. He gave us a ton of recommendations on stuff to do in the area and it was a delight talking to him about his favorite beers and things. The brewery doesn’t serve food but has snacks like chips and pretzels, plus they allow outside food. Chris recommended the Mexican restaurant next door, a cafe, and even had menus ready for us. We wended up grabbing food from Big Mikes across the way. We came back for another beer and had a great time at the brewery. I loved the red ale and the Pilsner.

Ecusta Brewing Company
451 Ecusta Rd, BrevardI love this brewery! First off, they have a whole separate room and patio that is designated as child-free. For those with their kiddos in tow there is plenty of space and outdoor areas with open seating. The food here is delicious, the beer is great and with the views off towards fields and mountains…and no one running around screaming… it’s a very chill, and truly lovely experience at Ecusta. Bravo.
