“Southern States is a gem. The staff are down- to-earth, honest, humble, hard working, and knowledgeable when it comes to landscaping, gardening, pest control, and more. It is one of my favourite places to visit to look at beautiful plants and the best spot in town for grass seed advice, gardening questions, pet food, bird seed, and other. Strongly recommend”
“We stoped by today to get ideas for our front yard. Amy was so incredibly helpful! We showed her pictures of the space and she showed us several options. I was surprised to find there were so many things to choose from. We also worked with Sunshine who was very helpful. After we left I recommended the nursery to a friend of mine.”
“BeUtiful free gardens of natural local plants, trees and flowers. Very educational and well presented. Nice garden and gift shop with all types of educational information and books. Very wide varieties of plants and flowers native to NC and the south from different environments. Very well presented and maintained. You should give a nice donation if you visit to keep places like this available to everyone.”

I went in and asked a lot of questions for a fire pit area I am doing in my backyard. They were very helpful and estimated how much rock I would need and it was exactly enough! It was reasonably priced for the rock and delivery and they were able to deliver the next day. They arrived on time and unloaded everything quickly and exactly where I needed it. They were very friendly and great to work with. Will definitely come back for future projects.”
“I had a bad experience at my local garden center, so I decided to try out Durham Garden Center and I was not disappointed! I was greeted when I stepped in. All of their houseplants looked healthy. And as I was checking out, the young man gave me very good Venus Flytrap advice. I don't get his name, but shoutout to him (he was tall, and he also spoke really good Spanish!)”
