“Julia's Cafe is great! I love being able to buy books for very reasonable prices. You can also get food and drinks. It is connected to the Habitat for Humanity store, so I try to go when they are both open. Lots of great volunteers help organize the books so it is easy to see what they have in the different sections. I buy a lot of kids books for $1 or $2. Julia's Cafe joined the Charlotte Book Crawl this year (2026).”

“The most amazing store. I went in looking for parenting/baby books and found more than what I went in for. The prices are really nice, and The Greener Apple store in the front is amazing! As someone who tries to stay the vegan/natural route, there were so many options from snacks to eco friendly household products to beauty/self care items. The owner was so sweet too! Happy 15th anniversary!
(Also the little kitties in the store are a plus!)”

“Great mediation center. Kadampa offers both easy access to modern meditation practices and real insight into the thousands year old religion and spiritual practice of Buddhism.
Really cool stuff. I recommend staying after class to share a home cooked meal with the monks and other temple goers. It's become a highlight of my week, I can always count on meeting new people and getting any questions I have answered.
Big shout out to the resident teacher Gen Norbu- very approachable and knowledgeable teacher. I'm very happy I found this gem in south end.”

“These guys are fantastic! My map came in the promised window and they provided consistent updates on delivery status. Most importantly though, the map itself is beautiful! I got the World Classic Wall Map and it is even better than I hoped it would be! It has really rounded out the décor in my office. 10/10 would recommend!”

“I love going to the Scholastic Book Fairs. This year, everything is BOGO!! EVERYTHING! I can find everything from baby books to adult bestsellers, even books in Spanish There are cookbooks, fun pencils and pens, bookmarks, posters, etc. There's even a special section of books where you pack as many as possible into the box for $28.95, and it's also BOGO. I typically get over 30 items in my box so it's well worth doing that if you find several books you like. Teachers, homeschoolers, school volunteers, and parents, you can't go wrong visiting the warehouse during one of these sites.”

Queens is a top notch institution dedicated to anti racism across its curriculum, administrative policies, and within all they do in service to the community. The campus is gorgeous and the people are warm and engaging—always willing to help! Cannot recommend Queens enough for prospective students, employees, or visitors to Charlotte”

One star off because some of the books & materials are very dated. While I purchased a few pamphlets, many publications I bypassed just from how dated they were.”

“I don't like the return policy (a week after classes start) and the no weekend hours. But the process of returning my rented textbooks at the end of the month seemed ok. Unfortunately, I won't know if they were ok with the books because they don't check the condition right there in front of you nor provide any type of document noting return.”
