“This is your one stop shop for natural remedies medicine you name it it's here and the management has always been better than hospitable to say the least and I have been sending family and friends here on a regular basis”
“I love every moment I am able to go to the ground. It’s so rejuvenating and so much love as soon as you walk through the door. so grateful for this place.”
“Every time I go there for a gift or something for me I find it pleasant to shop and the customer service is beyond excellent. The partner of the owner is the nicest person and always provides a great shopping experience.”
“Great variety and huge selection of local authors! When traveling I make a point to stop at indie stores and purchase something I couldn’t easily get at my own local store. This was not a difficult mission today! Also the store pup was a happy surprise!”
“The most amazing store. I went in looking for parenting/baby books and found more than what I went in for. The prices are really nice, and The Greener Apple store in the front is amazing! As someone who tries to stay the vegan/natural route, there were so many options from snacks to eco friendly household products to beauty/self care items. The owner was so sweet too! Happy 15th anniversary!
(Also the little kitties in the store are a plus!)”
“I have had nothing less than an amazing EXPERIENCE each time I have visited MAMA BESSIE'S PLACE.
The staff is very professional, courteous, knowledgeable on there merchandise & some are even able to provide additional support in the form of recommendations on how to get the best use out of certain products.
I also admire the fact that there is always soft music playing in the background to help relax you as you shop. In addition MAMA BESSIE'S has established herself as a reputable dealer of metaphysical stones and items inside of the Charlotte, NC Area.
If a friend or family member were to ask me for recommendations, then I would highly recommend checking out MAMA BESSIE'S PLACE; even if you are just passing through it is worth a visit while in Charlotte, NC.”
“Really great place to wander. The maze like set up really takes advantage of the space. Prices are good. Love that there's a rewards program. My only qualm is that it was quite hot.”
“They are always so welcoming. I don't buy many physical books anymore but I like supporting when they have events. Definitely black authors I try to come. Indie authors as well. I travel 40 mins just to support.”
“Julia's Cafe is great! I love being able to buy books for very reasonable prices. You can also get food and drinks. It is connected to the Habitat for Humanity store, so I try to go when they are both open. Lots of great volunteers help organize the books so it is easy to see what they have in the different sections. I buy a lot of kids books for $1 or $2. Julia's Cafe joined the Charlotte Book Crawl this year (2026).”
“Definitely my inner child gets lost in the small isolates of this Christian bookstore. I also want to add that the owner will do everything possible to find a book that you are trying to look for if it is not in the store, I thank God for the privilege being able to find this type of business sense they are not that many Christian bookstores ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Definitely my inner child gets lost in the small aisles of this Christian bookstore. I also want to add that the owner will do everything possible to find a book that is of your choice if it is not in the place, I thank God for the privilege of still being able to find this type of business open since probably one day they will not more will be possible ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“This center has been a true place of warmth and welcoming to me. You don't have to have any experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend. This place is for anyone and everyone! The teachers are all wonderful and it has improved my life greatly from being patient and calm, to letting go of anger. Everyone should give it a try ???”

“These guys are fantastic! My map came in the promised window and they provided consistent updates on delivery status. Most importantly though, the map itself is beautiful! I got the World Classic Wall Map and it is even better than I hoped it would be! It has really rounded out the décor in my office. 10/10 would recommend!”
“Wonderful relaxing place. I was able to get a lot of work done while enjoying the comfort of a leather chair. The cup of coffee I had was exceptional and the barista was friendly and helpful.I believe if I'm ever back on that side of town I will be revisiting wellinghall.”

“Fantastic shop. Thank you so much for getting the books to my mam for her birthday despite me ordering mid Easter weekend and the birthday being first work day back. Greatly appreciated!”
“Love this store! Staff is so helpful and friendly. Nothing compares to reading your favorite author, discovering a new one or finding a unique item inside the store.”
“Great University that truly empowers and believes in its students, faculty, and staff. Queens is a top notch institution dedicated to anti racism across its curriculum, administrative policies, and within all they do in service to the community. The campus is gorgeous and the people are warm and engaging—always willing to help! Cannot recommend Queens enough for prospective students, employees, or visitors to Charlotte”
“Great selection of books, toys, puzzles, Legos, games and more! The cafe has great Starbucks drinks and baked goods. Love the warm cookies and the new horchata! But anything in the cafe and you can get a book they are promoting for just $5.00– what a great idea! 😎”

“I was thrilled to find the staples of my childhood. I was greeted when I came in. No issues with checkout as the cashier was friendly.
One star off because some of the books & materials are very dated. While I purchased a few pamphlets, many publications I bypassed just from how dated they were.”
“Everything you need while attending CPCC this coming Fall 2022 semester can be found at the bookstore. Backpacks, writing material and writing utensils, books for each and every course offered, snacks, drinks, chargers, hot coffee... you name it.... I even bought my first laptop from here with my Pell Grant/financial aid money.”
“Edit: Amy and Ximena were also helpful recently and provided excellent care.
Jacob Bosham provided outstanding support and service. Upbeat demeanor and knowledge on questions asked. Checking out was not so painful with a happy attitude and smile!!”
“I don't like the return policy (a week after classes start) and the no weekend hours. But the process of returning my rented textbooks at the end of the month seemed ok. Unfortunately, I won't know if they were ok with the books because they don't check the condition right there in front of you nor provide any type of document noting return.”
“A very welcomed addition to east Charlotte. It’s like having a local living room to gather with like minded readers in a safe and quiet space. Indie bookstores are absolutely necessary for a community because of the impact they have. I very much enjoyed my visit here and look forward to returning soon!”
