“Walking into this store was like stepping into a symphony of sparkling floors and fully-stocked shelves—the Mozart of supermarkets! You could eat off the tile, but why would you, when every food item you could ever crave is lined up like soldiers ready for dinner duty? From fresh produce that looked like it was handpicked by angels, to meats so perfectly marbled they could be mistaken for Renaissance art—it was a feast for the senses.
Even the carts rolled smoothly, like they’d just come back from a spa weekend. No wobbly wheels here, folks.
At D & D Pest Control Co., we travel all over Eastern North Carolina—and believe me, we’ve seen our share of grocery stores that look like they lost a wrestling match with a raccoon. But this Food Lion? This one’s a lion among lambs. Clean, organized, and stocked better than a prepper's bunker before Y2K.
We regularly stop here to load up on snacks and supplies before heading out to send termites and roaches to bug heaven. This Food Lion fuels our pest-fighting crusade—and keeps us from turning into hangry exterminators.”
“Can I just shout out to your cashiers! Went there yesterday to grab some fruit and juice and items for sick family members… the cashier was so kind. When I started to load my cart she told me to let her do that, that I looked like I’d had a rough day. Although I didn’t realize it was showing on my face, her thoughtfulness brought me to tears. Your employees are gems.”

“Great location, for many reasons.Usually have what I’m looking/an alternative.Sales every day.Plenty of parking options.Helpful humans! ? or self checkout.Shopping doesn’t seem like a job when you feel welcome in the store. The nice employees willing to help you find anything, if you should have any trouble, prove it to me every time I go in. Luckily, the same easy going guy always helps get groceries to my car. He is respectful, thorough & thoughtful.. even has a way of gently settling my sometimes anxious little one after a trip around the entire store. Will definitely continue to shop here!”
“Always get them rewards can save up to 8 to 10%, sometimes even buy one get one free on some pretty decent items great bread in the bakery friendly people a little bias my wife used to work there stop by check out the prices in the meat department”
“Just a nice little hole in the wall bar. Super cold beer and a sweet waitress. The bartender is also the cook. The place doesn't look like much, but the food is actually really decent if you're just in the mood for burgers and wraps. The onion rings were actually on a different level though. They were great. It has a nice size pool hall with a bunch of rednecks talking about their Harleys. Got trucks with rebel flags all over them so if you're triggered easily it might not be the place for you, but if you're fine with that stop by and get a cold beer and a burger.”
“A million times better than the other ones in Kinston. I went to the one on Vernon Ave the other day and the cashier was on the phone the entire time she was on the floor and then when I was checking out and she was ringing me up! The Plaza Blvd store is soooooo much better!”
“The staff are always friendly and helpful! The store is always stocked. The meat market is better than any other meat market in town or surrounding County with regard to variety and price. The store Manager does an excellent job and always speaks and is never moody”
“Quite literally the best authentic Hispanic food in Kinston and probably the area, if you're a Kinstonian and like Hispanic food, you owe it to yourself try this place out. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming and they even have a little tienda (Hispanic store) attached if you need any spices or the like. The only issue with this place is it's easy to miss and it doesn't get nearly the traffic it deserves.”
“I love Henderson Food Center. I been knowing the owners for a couple of years. They are friends of my family. The store has good quality, valves and friendly service. I used to work there myself as a cashier and I really enjoyed it. Henderson been a neighborhood store for a long time. You can find things in that's not in any other stores. It's also cheaper prices too. Overall it is good.”

“This place gets FIVE STARS for the MOST DISGUSTING MENS ROOM that I have ever seen in my life! Seriously, if you are into gross bathrooms, THIS PLACE needs to go to the top of your bucket list of places to see before you die! Lots of really cool options if you dare, like the need to reach into the toilet tank to flush the toilet (because the handle is broke) or using the air dryer that blows germs all over your legs. But wait ... there’s more! You get to guess what nasty germs are growing on that doorknob. Get there fast! Hurry before someone starts a restroom GoFundMe renovation account and makes this eyesore disappear forever!!!”
“Always can come thru to get a little or a lot. Jade up front is sweet, Noah and Cody great guys! A little more expensive than some on most things but not always and they have digital coupons as well as a rewards program for points.”

“Very friendly staff, food is awesome, reasonably priced, they removed a few things that I’ve enjoyed and wished they had hot wings on the menu ?, Parking is very limited at times, I have parked behind the store I know it’s not a parking spot but most of the time I’m getting propane the 100 pound tanks. Overall just wish they had more available parking besides in front of the store and the grass area, since half the time I’m with my grandma that can’t walk to far, but ether way awesome store glad they have been around when I was growing up, hope they are around for many more years”
“I was in the store and I couldn't find what I was looking for. The young lady Carlesha stopped what she was doing and walked me to where I could find what I was looking for. Carlesha showed that she has the potential of going beyond her cashier position. I thought that she was one of the manangers there due to her being so helpful. Carlesha is how customer service should be displayed with in an establishment. I thank you so much Miss Carlesha for your pleasant attitude, assistance and your great customer service!”
