Beatty’s Ford Park, located along the shores of Lake Norman in Lincoln County, offers a peaceful and family-friendly outdoor space. Managed in partnership with Duke Energy, the park features a variety of amenities that make it an inviting destination for visitors. One of the main attractions is the new fishing pier, open daily from sunrise to sunset, providing safe and accessible fishing access without the need for fighting for shore space. The pier enforces simple rules to keep the area clean and safe, requiring a valid NC fishing license for those over 16 and prohibiting alcohol, smoking, swimming, or jumping. The park also includes a lovely beach area, which is very clean and feels like a small Florida beach, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the water. It has a splash pad and playground, which are especially popular with children, and the playground’s poured surface makes it accessible and easy to walk on. Picnic shelters and restrooms are available for visitors wanting to spend a few hours or a full day. The boat ramp provides convenient access for boaters, and a swim beach adds to the park’s appeal. Visitors appreciate the beautiful lake views, the quiet atmosphere, and friendly staff. Overall, Beatty’s Ford Park is a well-maintained, enjoyable spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts, especially during the summer months. Parking can fill up quickly on weekends, so planning ahead is recommended.
We had a quick visit but there was was parking and able to walk down to the boat docks at a playground. I can see the parking filling up on weekends very quickly.
