“My husband and I were in town for his chemotherapy treatments at Duke and staying at a local hotel when someone broke into our car, shattering the rear passenger-side window. We were supposed to drive four hours back to Virginia that day, with thunderstorms in the forecast, so traveling without a window would have been miserable.
