⭐ Follow-up to my previous review — Jiffy Lube, Gastonia

This is a follow-up to my previous review, and unfortunately, I have another issue to report.

I recently took my 2019 Toyota Highlander XLE to Take 5 Oil Change for a routine oil change. During the service, the technicians discovered that the oil filter cap/assembly had been damaged during the previous oil change performed at Jiffy Lube.

The damage was significant enough that the cap and related components needed to be addressed before the oil change could be completed. I have photos documenting the condition of the filter and the damaged cap assembly. What is most concerning to me is that I was never informed that the oil filter cap had been damaged during the Jiffy Lube service. I only became aware of the problem when another oil-change facility inspected the vehicle.

Mistakes can happen, but when a component is damaged during a service, the customer should be informed immediately. Instead, I drove the vehicle away without knowing there was a problem.

This follow-up has unfortunately changed my opinion of my experience with Jiffy Lube. I trusted them to perform a routine oil change correctly, and I now have an unnecessary repair and expense because of damage discovered during my next oil change.

I am attaching photos so customers can see the condition of the filter and cap for themselves.

I strongly recommend that customers check their vehicles carefully after having maintenance performed here.

Very disappointing experience, and I will not be returning.

I initially rushed my review, but after taking a closer look, I need to update my experience.

My first visit to this location was last week, where I had an oil change and tire rotation done. Yesterday, I noticed my SUV was leaking motor oil—something that should never happen after routine service.

This raises serious concerns about the quality of work performed, especially for a basic maintenance service.

Based on this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this location.”

“Quick easy in and out. Explained everything of which I already knew but politely let them explain what they are doing, their other services, etc. good service. Expensive, yes, but I was out in under 10 minutes. Other leaves $20-$30 cheaper, but you wait an hour for an oil change.”
