“Cute little used bookstore just outside of Charlotte. I stopped by today on my way to a concert. For a small place they have a great selection of books that are well organized. They also have some cute jewelry & some very unique candles (presumably locally made). Of note, there is a sign on the door that you need to schedule an appt to sell/trade books.”

“Goldberry Books is easily the best bookstore in the area. They have a huge selection with something for everyone, and they do an especially great job with classics—often carrying really beautiful editions.

One of my favorite parts is their Tolkien section. They have a dedicated area for The Lord of the Rings and other Tolkien works, which is a great touch for fans. Their teen section is also excellent, and the kids’ room is really well done and fun to explore.

They even have sections that feel like a bit of a treasure hunt, with low-cost books where you can dig around and find great deals. That’s always a fun experience.

The owners are wonderful, and the whole bookstore has a cozy, welcoming feel. I really like the layout, and it’s just an enjoyable place to spend time. I’ve been going since they opened and have loved it ever since.

As a bonus, they’re right next to an excellent coffee spot, the Press & Porter. I’d recommend grabbing a Corban coffee from their local favorites board and pairing it with Watership Down by Richard Adams—hard to beat that combination.

Overall, it’s a fantastic bookstore and a perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon.”

“The most amazing store. I went in looking for parenting/baby books and found more than what I went in for. The prices are really nice, and The Greener Apple store in the front is amazing! As someone who tries to stay the vegan/natural route, there were so many options from snacks to eco friendly household products to beauty/self care items. The owner was so sweet too! Happy 15th anniversary!

(Also the little kitties in the store are a plus!)”

“Julia's Cafe is great! I love being able to buy books for very reasonable prices. You can also get food and drinks. It is connected to the Habitat for Humanity store, so I try to go when they are both open. Lots of great volunteers help organize the books so it is easy to see what they have in the different sections. I buy a lot of kids books for $1 or $2. Julia's Cafe joined the Charlotte Book Crawl this year (2026).”

“Definitely my inner child gets lost in the small isolates of this Christian bookstore. I also want to add that the owner will do everything possible to find a book that you are trying to look for if it is not in the store, I thank God for the privilege being able to find this type of business sense they are not that many Christian bookstores ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Definitely my inner child gets lost in the small aisles of this Christian bookstore. I also want to add that the owner will do everything possible to find a book that is of your choice if it is not in the place, I thank God for the privilege of still being able to find this type of business open since probably one day they will not more will be possible ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Been coming here since I was a child. I just feel now that the people working need to be more friendly. I'm just saying....it is the Adventist Book Center. Last couple of times I've gone in there I felt like I was an inconvenience.”

“I don't like the return policy (a week after classes start) and the no weekend hours. But the process of returning my rented textbooks at the end of the month seemed ok. Unfortunately, I won't know if they were ok with the books because they don't check the condition right there in front of you nor provide any type of document noting return.”
