Best Western Hickory is a hotel in a convenient and great location, putting guests in close proximity to the area. The overall experience is okay to good, with many guests noting the property is very clean and neat. The staff receives exceptional praise, described as great, charming, professional, accommodating, extremely polite, positive, friendly, and awesome. Their service is outstanding and a highlight of the stay. The hotel is nicely decorated, especially for the holidays, and offers a good breakfast buffet that is well-managed, with some suggestions to add items like pancakes and French toast. However, the hotel is sorely in need of renovation and has several maintenance issues. Rooms are clean but may have buckled carpet, mold on bathroom tiles, and outdated air conditioning and heating systems that can be noisy. A significant and repeated problem is excess moisture, causing damp floors, carpets, and clothes. Bathrooms lack extractor fans, making them very moist. Some rooms, particularly those facing outdoors, may have background noise. There are no elevators, requiring guests on the second floor to carry luggage up stairs. Despite these cons, many find it a more affordable option and a delightful place to stay primarily due to the excellent staff.
Staff was so incredible! This was the first stop on our honeymoon last year and we decided to come back. They did everything in their power to make sure we got the exact same room, and we even got to see John who checked us in last year and so patiently took pictures in the lobby for us. We’ll see you next year!

We stayed an extra night due to a major car issue. The staff at this hotel could not have been more kind and gracious during a very stressful situation. Absolutely amazing experience, the staff is truly incredible. The manager (believe her name was Kelly) made one of the worst nights of our lives, so much better. I've stayed in many luxury hotels & never been treated this well, she made us feel at home.
