“We stayed in the room above the store and it was the perfect location; very close to Grayson Highlands State park. There's a beautiful creek that runs behind the store for guests to enjoy. Paula is a wonderful hostess and answered any questions we had about check-in. The food was excellent, especially the cinnamon bun bread pudding we had for breakfast. It was a highlight of our trip.Rooms: Room was clean and spacious and also came with a coffee maker, fridge, microwave and table.Nearby activities: Close to entrance of Grayson Highland State parkFood & drinks: Delicious breakfast casserole and cinnamon bun bread pudding.”
“Was out looking at real estate. Left home without breakfast. Found this little tucked out of the way spot. Had a great country style breakfast. Big fan of grits cooked right. Talked to locals sitting at other tables. Very friendly. My server we used to call them waitresses was quite interesting and attentive. Worth a stop.”

“My experience was great. Super down to earth people. Customer service - 10/10. I only spent abiut $20 bucks and they were generous enough to offer me a free sample of a item I had never tried before and I was unsure the quality of the product was as good as they were saying. I just figured they delivered a really good and convincing up-sell pitch on why I should buy the product. Needless to say, I’ll be back within the next hour and a half ?and I’ll be shopping there more from now on!”
“Friendly and helpful staff, wonderful old country store building, clean and well kept, well stocked grocery necessary items, good gas and diesel, remarkably good selection of hardware and home repair items. Also have hot food for take out. Clean bathrooms. Great place and people. On Hwy 88 just up the hill from Buffalo Road in Smethport, the Jewel of Ashe County, NC.”
“Excellent food, and great service! (Thank you Samantha) Very uniquely decorated too. They change their specials daily, and no lack of food portions either, three of us had the philly sandwich, spiced potatoes and onion rings, another friend had the pulled pork. We all recommend it highly! Wished I had taken a picture of our sandwiches!”

“Recently I had a prescription filled that was the wrong drug combination. When I brought it to the pharmacy manager Megan attention I feel she did everything she could to make it right. Within 30 minutes after calling my primary doctor in Florida the prescription was filled correctly. I have always found the pharmacy staff especially Megan to be very helpful.”

“Small country gas with Hunt Brothers Pizza - Hot pizza fresh daily. if you are in the area this is the only hot food except in Lansing Restraint and Pie on the Mountain about 5 miles on down the road. This is the only gas for now for 18 miles without going up Big Horse creek. On the road and easy to get out and turn around to go in a U turn. Friendly folk run the place.”
