“Amazing prices & food! Came here around 9pm and they were SOLD OUT so I had to come by a different day. The lady working told us to stop by around 5:30am-11:00am because they are open until they sell out for the day. Don't make the same mistake like I did! They also have a SPICY CHICKEN biscuit that is not listed on the menu, and the worker said it's because the menu wasn't updated but it was SO GOOD! The cheese biscuit is good by itself and personally thought that it was better than the biscuits and gravy. Their cinnamon rolls are to die for, make sure to grab one in line!”

“They are all the same. A bunch of smiles, friendly service, plenty of merch, and great way to avoid getting out of the car.

Does their beer and such cost more? Probably, but if this is only place you stop for beer, wine, and such, you'll never know.”

“Its a smaller slightly dated 7-Eleven but It's run well and kept clean with good staff. Doesn't get sketchy going later but watch out for 12 after 10p. plenty of parking, one bathroom, And a good selection of Cold and warm food as well as diod personal necessities if you're in a pinch.”

“On a very cold and extremely windy early morning, I was leaving the Outer Banks and stopped here for gas and coffee. The attendant was very friendly and the coffee (ground and brewed on the spot) was a hot treat on such a miserable morning!Pumping my gas and cleaning my Jeep's windshield and windows were no easy task in that wind, but at least I had a hot cup of delicious coffee and an invigorated start to a 600 mile trip!”

“Store #5545 OMG.... I was having a rough day!!! I cant even begin....I came in this store soaking wet... tired from walking miles in the rain and was met by Jessica the Store manager! She was friendly... no she was an angel! I watched her interact with customers and it bought tears to my eyes. Stopping to help check out at the self check out for the seniors. Walking eveyone to the items they were looking for. ALL while still checking on me and making small talk until my ride showed up and they were literally coming from another state! I have not seen customer service like this in forever! She didnt stop there! Her interaction with her staff was most respectable and they love working with her! I could tell by their willingness to give and help, as it was a reflection of her and her training! The store was immaculate... so easy to shop and inviting!!! The bathrooms were well stocked and clean as well! If you are ever in Manteo or near the Outer Banks you HAVE to stop and check her out you wont be disappointed!!! “In response to previous reviews, yes, they do close early. And yes I have walked up to the door and it's locked early. There are other stores you can go to. 7-11 and speedway always seem to be opened. I've always felt if I wait to the last minute to run out to duck thru them it's all on me. There are employees that have a hard time walking. If they wanna close early after a long day and no customers, then I have no problems with that! Jernigan Oil has issues keeping employees. So please remember, always smile, treat them with kindness. The employees are amazing. They may be different employees every few weeks, but there's no reason to get so upset over closing early! Sh-t happens, carry on with a smile?! Life's to sort and there so much to do and see, don't waste it being so worked up over super little detours in life.Y'all have a good day!”

“12/2020 update: The staff at the Manteo Speedway, is at best ,touch & go, there isnt alot of attention to customer service, perhaps the Covid Virus has something to do with that? When I go in, sometimes you see a mask on, but not always, depends on who is working and the time of visit' the front checkout are not always there, ready to wait on you, I've seen more than a few times, coffee or soda breaks, than walking behind counter, not hand sanitizing, which for someone like myself, finds concerning, why? Because I have a compromised immune system, & with being chronically ill" it sometimes makes me wonder why I bother? I have to request my receipt, I'd say everytime but perhaps 2 times in the last year, and having a speedway online/on phone' account..I've had my card not scan or phone, and because of no receipt, not been able to prove & get my earned points.. since noticing this, I pointedly request it, it always is as though I asked for there money.. the friendliness is not as once, occasional bouts of politeness, but I dont work there and probably show better customer service to the staff workers than they do to myself or others, also...it can be disturbing to see workers on frequent smoke breaks, where there seen at corner outside back of building, I've tried contacting the toll free speedway account # to ask for help or assistance..but no answers, and emails haven't been answered for months as well.. and if there is a sign posted saying " points for given items" than you check out & they say "Oops, that was supposed to be down" so in order words.. to bad, I still stop in on occasion, but with less cleanliness done, no rules followed in regards to NC state& County rules in the response to Covid, it's not where I go much anymore, may seem like just one person, but if I feel this way, & others do, well it adds up.. I hope to see what I see as a past favorite store make changes.. if not losing myself & others may add up to loss of profits & the store becoming a convenience store that makes it during the times we are going thru, hope not, but til it changes, get gas outside with credit, avoid inside if possible, unless your lucky enough to know you will never be susceptible to sickness or spreading to your loved ones, lucky you if that's the case.. 10/2017 Joseph, and his staff( ya all know who you are) that I'v come to know, I mean the ones who are still there not just for a couple months ,are Awesome! I have issues walking around and they are always there to lend a hand, answer a question, smile and encourage you when you've had a long day,I actually feel there like 'family " lol, and the "Speed Way ' program is a great way to earn..gas, food, gift cards, whatever you want.. I love the app. to , it's easy to use and updates constant, plus they have the best Gas prices, including the one in Kill Devil Hills, so thanks to ya all. I know you've had a lot of changes this year, but your the Best!”

“Triston is probably the coolest gas station attendant I've ever met. He even pointed out the beer cave to me, which helped me make the correct decision when I was looking for some ice cold PBR pounders!”

“The pharmacist, Hunter, at the Kill Devil Hills location is the best I have ever had the pleasure to interact with, and goes above & beyond in every way. Walgreens is lucky to have him, and anytime I see Hunter behind the counter, methodically filling prescriptions in the back, or dutifully answering a barrage of never ending phone calls; I know everything will be okay.

The rest of the staff is great as well. Nick, Jonathon, and Alice are amazing, and extremely helpful. Hopefully Walgreens is able to keep them all happy, so they never leave. They all make the Kill Devil Hills Walgreens location one of the best pharmacies I have ever been a steady customer. They definitely go the extra mile, and seem to actually care about the customer.

I never thought I would love a pharmacy part of a large chain of stores, but Hunter, Nick, Jonathan, and Alice have changed my mind for the better.

I definitely recommend the Kill Devil Hills Walgreens location based on the staff alone.”

“In the chaos re: Covid shots, at 80 yo and being someone who gets Covid shots, I discovered not my CVS nor my pcp Beach Med was THE PROBLEM- that was go north on 95 and stop at HHS ! Fortunately, my CVS tech advised me which steps to follow to get a script for the shot and when to come back — and she was right - very professional and knowledgeable about this chaos ! I’m glad I have this CVS working so well on my behalf and also working well with my local medical office ! Kudos!”

“Very pleasant experience! I got me a pickle ? I got me some sour straws? I got me some exotic lifesavers? a treat I haven’t found anywhere else! They have a wonderful array of frosty flavors and all kinds of delectable treats! Very pleasant cashier, rung me up and didn’t complain when I had to count out my exact change of 8.42 cents! It took me a while but he accepted with a smile! Bars. One star deducted for this flabbergasting price for these oddly shaped and rather off putting chicken salad sandwiches :/. also where are the kangaroos? Circle K? Kangaroo express? Huhhhhh?”
