From the very first planning meeting to the last dance of the night, we felt genuinely cared for. As two busy working professionals, the structure and support from Wedgewood Weddings & Events made our planning process feel manageable and bite-sized instead of overwhelming. Every step was organized, clear, and thoughtful. It allowed us to actually enjoy being engaged instead of drowning in spreadsheets.
Sarah, Virginia, and Savannah were phenomenal. Truly. They anticipated needs before we even voiced them, answered every question with patience, and made us feel like our wedding was the only one that mattered. On the day of, Savannah in particular took such intentional care of both me and Kevin. She checked in constantly, kept things flowing seamlessly, and made sure we were present instead of stressed.
As chefs and hotel people, service is everything to us. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The team followed our directions perfectly, respected our vision, and executed it beautifully. A moment that meant the world to us was watching the service staff go above and beyond to help my autistic nephew find something “safe” to eat during dinner. That kindness and awareness is not something you can train into people. It’s heart.
We also loved the intentional use of small businesses throughout the process. You can feel that Alexander Homestead values community and craftsmanship, and that matters.
Our day felt seamless, warm, and deeply cared for from start to finish. We walked away not just married, but genuinely grateful.

The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and there is pretty much no end to the things they can provide. The owners and staff were so personable and truly made you feel special. “I recently visited the Charlotte Convention Center for ChosenCon 2026. The space is very big and is connected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The spaces are large and the place includes a UPS, Starbucks, and a small food court. The place was very clean and had many bathrooms. I recommend going here for events and conventions.”

“My daughter had her wedding there and it was perfect! The Venue offers a lot of space. There are areas in a separate house for the bride and groom and the wedding party to get ready (even an overnight option). We had access to the house all day and even had lunch there for the bridal party. The guests were seated looking out over a lake. We had space to have an outdoor cocktail hour and an indoor reception. We had a few family members that were unable to walk and they transported them in golf cart and delivered them right to the wedding and then on to the reception. Michele had lots of decoration options that we were free to use and she helped us to put together table decor that we were happy with. She had it all set up and we didn't have to do anything! She was able to keep the wedding on track, coordinated with caterers, a coffee truck, DJ, photographer, all the different moving parts. After the reception, she helped to have everything packed up from the reception and all we had to do was put it into cars. I would highly recommend considering The Oaks as a wedding venue option. Joe is INCREDIBLE! He’s been so supportive and accommodating whenever I’ve needed space for one-off meetings. His professionalism and kindness really make the experience stand out. Highly recommend Hygge, and definitely ask for Joe if you need help getting set up!”

“Went to the Belk Theater to see the Lion King! It was so amazing & emotional. I've wanted to see this play for over a decade & it didn't disappoint. The staff was the best; they operated like a well-oiled machine. We were able to pay for parking at the theater & drive right out afterward with no delay! Will return to this venue!”
“Always a great time at the Neighborhood Theater. Lots of shows are general admission, standing room only. At my age, I always pick shows that have reserved seating.
Several good restaurants within walking distance. Some free parking in the area but plenty of paid parking available. Pick a show and go have fun!”

This, Dickens, a Christmas Carol that’s my favorite! The actors and acting were superb! Not to mention hysterical! Cocktails were delicious and we’ve even recreated a couple of them. The fact that five people do everything that’s amazing! Great time great time!

Can't wait to test drive them in 2025 and hopefully take delivery before 2026 year end. Size is perfect for basic worktruck. Hoping the price stays less than $30k with the extended battery.”
“We went for a wedding recently and it was pretty awesome. The food was good. The staff was a little stressed at first but tried extremely hard to keep us all happy and things running smoothly. The wedding planner Lindsay was awesome. ? By the end of the night, the staff were relaxed and having a good time with the rest of us. The property is beautiful, and the amenities were classy and on point. Really enjoyed it. My only complaint was that the wedding seemed to end a bit abruptly. It would have been nice to have an extra hour of food and one more for dance at the end of the night. I was told that may have to do with state law, having to close early but not sure if that is factual or not. Perhaps consider starting the wedding a few hours earlier if that is the case just to make sure the bride and groom get their money's worth. Overall, though, it was a truly memorable and wonderful experience.

During the event, we were actually able to relax and enjoy ourselves, yet anytime we needed something, the staff were easy to find and incredibly helpful. The add-ons and accommodations were reasonably priced, and all payments were communicated clearly and transparently.

“We always have our annual company christmas party here and it's always a great time. It is located in the heart of uptown, right in front of the City Center Marriott Hotel. The parking deck is actually off 4th St. Right in front of Pearl Dentistry. The place is always decorated beautifully and with a great venue room. Beautiful views of the Charlotte skyline. It was always a great time.”

A Community Membership at Venture X gives me the opportunity to change up the scenery every once in a while, get a nice cup of coffee, interact with interesting folks, and take advantage of regular breakfasts and happy hours. The staff is great, to boot - Lorena and McKenna go out of their way to ensure everyone's experience is a positive one, and there's always candy on the reception desk :-). “We had our daughter's birthday party here and it was great. Communication was clear and they were very accommodating of additions and answered all questions patiently. The girls (princesses) got a mani-pedi, facial (aloe vera mask), light makeup and a new princess dress to change into (which they get to keep) completing the makeover. The girls couldn't stop admiring themselves in the mirror after the makeover. ? There was a fashion show with bubbles and confetti which the girls loved. The package also included a formal sit-down dining (and lots of food options). I highly recommend Pretty Princess Play Palace. They took care of everything and the girls had a great experience!”

“Visited on a Wedneaday at 7pm and we were immediately able to get a lane for 5 people. They had a special going which was $19 per person unlimited bowling and shoes included which is a great deal compared to if you visit on a weekend. Staff was friendly but the service was a bit slow. It would take over 30min just to receive one drink but they were always super nice about everything. They had a DJ playing some great tunes and the whole vibe was amazing on a Wednesday evening. Always have a great time coming here. They also have an arcade with a few games to choose from. Plenty of parking as well.”
