Colonial Inn in Nags Head offers a convenient and quaint beachfront experience for visitors. The location is fantastic, just steps away from the pier and Jockeys Ridge, providing easy access to the beach and nearby attractions. The rooms are studio-style with small kitchens and bathrooms, suitable for short stays, although some guests noted the need for updated appliances for longer visits. The property features amenities such as a pool, free WiFi, and free ice, which guests appreciated. The check-in process is done through a virtual kiosk with a live person on video chat, and the staff is described as friendly and helpful. Some guests found the rooms to be clean and spacious, with effective air conditioning, while others noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance. Parking can be a challenge, as the lot is small, and maneuvering larger vehicles can be difficult. However, guests have the option to park at the nearby pier. The on-site restaurant received mixed reviews, with some guests disappointed with the long wait times and food quality. Overall, Colonial Inn provides a comfortable and convenient beach getaway, with a focus on its prime location. While some aspects of the property may need improvement, guests who manage their expectations are likely to enjoy their stay.
My stay was for work. The room was what you’d expect for a beach hotel. It was small but welcoming & clean. The hotel is a short walk to the beach. Check in was effortless. The doors have been updated with a keypad entry so you don’t even have to remember your key. I had no complaints.

The two bedroom apartment was awesome. The little one bedroom room we stayed in last year I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Get the two bedroom ones and it is awesome
