“These guys were amazing. I called to get a quote for the repairs I needed on my car. They were VERY reasonable and gave me a couple different options depending on economy or premium parts. They had me scheduled within a couple days to have the repairs done. I had the option of dropping off or waiting while they did the work. “A rare exceptionally good experience with this auto mechanic. Starting with booking the work over the phone with Greg Corey, it was clear that he and his guys are top notch. Greg provided a quick quote for my Ram 1500 and my girlfriend's Honda Accord, got me a convenient time slot on the weekend with only a couple days notice, and confirmed that he had all required parts in inventory to do the jobs. After doing the work, Greg brought me back into the shop to take a look at the removed oil pan on my Ram, so I could assess with my own eyes the degree of wear and tear based on metallic content in the pan. Some people might not be into that kinda thing, you might just want the job done quick and be on your way, in which case this place is still excellent and trustworthy. But personally I very much appreciate when a mechanic brings me in to talk technical details ... it confirms they know what theyre doing and not trying to upsell on unnecessary services. Greg owns the business and his father and (i think) grandfather also ran transmission shops. He was built for this and it's easy to tell. Excellent shop. I will be back for any future transmission work, no doubt about that.”

“Wow!! Thank you Joe and staff. I picked up my ole 87 240 from the shop today. She will be given to my daughter as her 1st car. I've been a Volvo owner for over 30 plus years. This car has been great, but needed a few new touches to make it a more reliable car for my daughter. Also as many of you know the AC these things go out and everyone including me is afraid to tackle this job. My old Volvo guy retired and need to find a person to trust. I had been with him for 15 years since I moved to Cabarrus County. Well when he retired I felt like I was lost, I has taken this to another general shop and just didn't get the feel. Well folks , I'm here to tell you that this place and Joe have the "Feel" . 1st time since I've had the car for almost 20 years the AC is COLD, did you hear that Cold. All new bushing so it's like on a cloud, we had new timing belt and H2O pump. All belts. Just a great job. Fair pricing for the knowledge and special tools to work on these old cars. Remember folks the 240 was ended in 93. So not many folks know the in and outs of them. I plan on taking my 91 wagon down to Joe for a few little things now. It is well worth the hour drive from way out in the Country were we live. Thanks again Joe!!”

They charged less for a full workup, including brakes, oil change, inspection, new battery, and fixing the main issue (dead alternator) all for less than the other shop quoted for just fixing the alternator.

“The short version is I had a wonderful experience with A.A.T Auto repair and I highly recommend them for your car repair needs.The long version is I was driving to Charlotte, had about an hour left of driving when my check engine charging system light came on. I made it close to my destination, but changed my route to an AutoZone. I missed the turn and my car started to stutter and j**** so I pulled into a Napa Auto Parts store that was very close, thinking it would provide the same battery services as AutoZone. The Napa employee said, “We don’t do that here.” I then tried to drive to the AutoZone, but couldn’t make it out of the parking lot. I called around asking about mobile services (none available) and called roadside assistance, which was an hour wait with no guarantee it was just a battery issue, so really would have only helped tow my car. As I was sitting in my car waiting for roadside assistance, I saw a sign for A.A.T Auto Repair. I called and I unfortunately did not get the man’s name, but he walked from his shop, tested my battery, pushed my car out of the parking spot because it wouldn’t reverse, then drove it back to his shop with the battery charger/hood up. This was Friday afternoon and the auto repair shop closed at 5p and is closed on the weekends. I explained I was only in town until Sunday. He proceeded to change the battery and alternator for me in a short period of time. It was very affordable. He was so kind and patient with me. My car has been perfect since the repairs and I made it back home safely on Sunday. I highly recommend A.A.T Auto Repair!Services: Auto engine diagnostic”

“Going to give props to Christian Brothers Automotive in Fort Mill on 160. I highly recommend them because they went above and beyond to fix my son's car.
The deal: About a few months after me and my son went halfsies on his car, a 2013 Ford Edge (~140K miles), the brakes started getting mushy. Not all the way to the floor bad, but soft. Still stops, but soft and not confidence inspiring. I took it to one place, they pulled the wheels off, told me the pads and rotors looked fine, plenty of life (which I already did the same and knew), then bled the brake system and said that is all they could do. Problem still existed. Did not trust them after that so I moved on. So a few weeks later I took it to another place. Mavis Tire and Brakes on Tega Cay Drive. They replaced the master cylinder and bled the system, said that's all they could do, but the problem still existed. Fort Mill Ford said they would 'look into it', quoted $2,600 or so just to replace the ABS module, and I'd get it back a week later (which translates to 2-3 weeks our time). I said no, too much and too long for that. Problem of mushy brakes still existed. A few weeks later (now, today), I took it too Christian Brothers Automotive. They did a complete check of everything, took stuff apart and dug. No leaky lines, pads/rotors good (as I already knew), but ran tests (not just computer diagnostics) and found the brake booster was bad. That's what the master cylinder mounts to, and what your brake pedal actuates, directly connecting to it. I doubt the master cylinder was bad now, but hey it was replaced. CBA also told me there is an active recall on this part. Ford or Mavis never told me that. Grr. SMH. CBA also dug further and found out the ABS module is bad, its check valves are not working, that a computer diagnostic would not always catch that. These guys went above and beyond to completely understand why one of the most critical safety functions of the vehicle, the brakes, were not working properly. Oh, and they came under Ford's quote by over $2K to do not only the ABS module replacement, but also the brake booster replacement, parts and labor. They won me over, won my trust for sure. Never going anywhere else for anything above routine maintenance.

I'd want to give Rodney at CBA in Fort Mill some huge props. He's the guy who did all the digging and came up with clear, honest recommendations. We had a handful of other things he found too, but mainly maintenance things that he even suggested waiting for later, handle this critical safety issue first.

My dad used to be a mechanic. Had is own garage. I grew up watching and helping him. I could have done some of these things, minus the ABS module (computer controlled car things scare me), but I just don't have the time anymore. It's nice when you find a place you can trust like your dad was working on your car.
