“I’ve been coming to Adams Market for years so I am aware that there is no better place to be! It’s love every time I enter the store and I appreciate everyone who works there. Especially my big brother Robin! He always has my back! Come shop at Adams Market! Where all are welcomed!”

“This Lowes Foods is a wonderful place for gluten free and dairy free items. I love that they carry the speciality items that I normally cannot find anywhere else, unless I drive into Winston. I also love their salad bar. Definitely can be more expensive than other grocery stores. I do not fully grocery shop here, but just buy specialty gluten free, dairy free items. Their fruit and veggies are normally very fresh as well. Convenient location in King, parking lot is a little tricky to maneuver sometimes since there are so many other little business' around and Wal-Mart is on the street next to it.”

“Nothing less than 5 stars. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. A variety of items for lunch when you’re on the run or just doing a regular market run. Make sure and try the sandwiches you won’t be disappointed.”

“Great "Kountry" store if they don't have what you need the owner will go above and beyond to try her best to get it for ya! Love the small town atmosphere. New owners are wonderful people.”

“Lidl is a nice place to shop for some items. They're not really your typical grocery store. You can get good deals on meat & seafood most of the time. Produce is generally good though the selection is limited. If you want to take advantage of some of their specials you will need to download their app. If you're interested in an advertised special you probably need to get there the first day of the sale. Lidl is pretty much a "when it's gone it's gone" type of store. They do not issue rainchecks. That said, Lidl is a good place to stop by for specific items but not so much a one stop grocery shopping experience.”

“Great gas prices. Friendly staff. And it's a drive thru station. Roll thru and buy snacks, energy drinks. Really good prices on cigarettes. And you don't have to leave the comfort of your car.”

“Finally, a grocery just two miles away. The local c-store just doesn't stock enough of the essentials so Food Lion is the go-to for everything especially early or late in the day. King is no longer a sleepy town like it used to be.”

“I found the store very clean and organized well. The selection of products is excellent. They carry a lot if products that are not available in other grocery stores. It is also easy to get assistance when needed.”

“Best place to go to when you don't want to walk a mile while doing groceries. Cashiers are always upfront ready to go, seeing a manager on the floor involved and helping the employees is nice to see.”

“Life-saver on many occasions. They're pricey but not too much and it makes sense because of where they are and how late they open. Nice service for groceries and some fresh produce which is always nice. The vibe is great. Can be a bit intimidating to join the bar crowd because they all seem to be from the neighborhood but I can't say they're not welcoming.”

“Whicker's is a wonderful family owned store. They have regular merchandise but there is also fresh homegrown produce and if you're lucky Pat has made homemade ham biscuits. Be early because they go quickly. Even though it's much like any other convenience store the smiles and warm greetings bring to mind better days. I absolutely love this place and I hope the store and the people continue to endure the lure of a city attitude.”

“I do volunteer work downtown near Merschel Park and stop in about once a week. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. In general just a great place for a coffee/tea, a small snack or a full on meal. I LOVE the deli counter - made to order sandwiches and bagels, very reasonably priced, always good, and fast! I'm always finding something new in there to try, too ☺️Vegetarian options: Made to order sandwiches (so easy to customize vegetarian)Dietary restrictions: Dairy free ice cream - cone or cup!”

“Lovely grocery store, bright and clean with a large selection of items and mostly helpful employees. The employees at the deli will simply ignore you and not even acknowledge you, while chatting amongst themselves. This HT stands to lose a lot of business here because Publix is well known for their deli service. They need to step it up a little bit.”

“They weren’t stocked very well but I’m sure it’s because there was a small chance for a teeny bit of bad weather that would have impacted people’s ability to get out of the house for at least 6 hours so everyone had to do what a good southerner does and panic shop. All that for rain… pretty cold rain though.”

“As much as it is pretty much busy every time I go there. I've never once had a problem with staff and it's usually a very entertaining visit. I love my food lion!”

“I live in Asheville, but used to live near a Food Lion. Food Lion is the only grocery store that I've found to have competitive prices with Walmart, and I wish we had more over in AVL. We got a Christmas tree from this Food Lion, and it was significantly cheaper than competition at 65 dollars.”

“Yes they take care of all my holiday needs and a great meat department... and top off they are now selling Uncle Lowe's peach cobbler and Booming Banana pudding!”

4.9 Superb10 Reviews

“Very clean and neat store for the most part. There are some products that need to be pushed forward and organized so you know how much a product is. This is coming from the fact that I have worked in retail a lot. Friendly staff, and prices are as expected! Excellent little general store to buy cheap stuff at!”

“We love Betty's. It isn't anywhere close to where we live, but it's the best little store. It is like stepping into a different era. I love to poke around in there because I never know what they'll have - will it be something new or something my grandad used? They definitely have old fashioned candy, that really takes me back to my childhood. This is the only place we go for live bait. Today they had big gold fish, and bass minnows and of course night crawlers. We bought some of each for our trip to New River. Now, you can buy worms at the big stores, but I consider those "store bought city worms". Betty's has big juicy, active, crawlers! I won't touch them because I'm a scream waiting to happen and they are VERY writhe-y. My husband is not fond of my squeals shattering the peace and he jumps a mile which gets me hysterical. Betty's will have everything you might need for fishing and hunting. Do you know what else they have? Two old fashioned Marathon gas pumps and the ringing hose that you drive over. Someone pulled up and a nice woman jumped up and went outside. I heard the man tell her, "I can do it Tammy". She was fully prepared to pump his gas!! If that isn't customer service from a gentler time, I don't know what is. You have got to stop in here!”
