Historic Thompson's Store is an awesome little diner and store offering great food with southern hospitality. It is a small town local burger joint and eatery with a wonderful menu, also functioning as a deli. Visitors praise the absolutely delicious food, including items like the off-menu roulette burger, crispy poutine fries covered in gravy bacon and cheddar cheese, and the famous sausage described as amazing and some of the best. The owners and staff are great people, known for being sweet and accommodating, even for large groups, with service that is fast. The atmosphere supports those who serve country and community. It is a super awesome place where many plan to definitely return, recommending that others do not sleep on the experience, especially the sausage to bring home.
Their 50/50 cheeseburger redefined “southern” special today! The food and the people made this small town visit special. Large made-to-order plates served with Southern hospitality in this quaint old grocery store. Definitely worth the detour from I26!
