“A stay at Balsam Mountain is like experiencing a fine old lodge in a national park as you journey back in time. It far exceeds any stay at a luxury hotel and leaves you with a feeling of respite nostalgia. It's unique, cozy and is nestled into the Blueridge Mountains. It may be difficult to find at night so arrive before sunset. They don't make hotels like these anymore. So make sure if you are headed north to Tennessee to spend at least one night here. We slept very well in the quite of this special retreat and enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the sunset and the deer pass by. Lovely, Absolutely Lovely place. I gave it an overall 5 for experience, but because of its lack of modern day luxuries I gave it a 3 for others. If you are seeking peace and tranquility in harmony from the big city with nature this is a fine retreat in the wilderness.Rooms: The beds and rooms are very comfortable and have historic charm.Nearby activities: Blueridge Mountains ... use your imagination.
