“I want to take a moment to recognize Jeff Smith, the Service Manager at Leith GMC in Wendell, for the way he handled an issue with my GMC truck.
About a year ago, I had an issue with my truck’s grille that was addressed by another dealership as part of a product safety recall. Unfortunately, the repair did not hold. Fast forward a year, and while my family and I were on our way to the beach, the grille came flying off the truck at approximately 70 mph. It went airborne into an adjacent lane, where another vehicle narrowly avoided hitting it. The incident also caused significant damage to my hood, including scratches and dents, with one area damaged all the way down to the bare metal.
To say I was frustrated would be an understatement. This was a problem that, in my opinion, should have been resolved by GMC the first time around.
That’s where Jeff Smith stepped in.
Jeff absolutely did not have to go as far as he did to help me, but he went out of his way to listen to my concerns, let me explain my frustrations, and then acted quickly to help resolve the situation. What stood out most to me was his honesty, willingness to listen, and genuine effort to make things right.
I realize there were likely other people behind the scenes who helped make this happen, and I wish I could thank each of them personally. But I also believe the culture that Jeff has created and continues to foster at Leith GMC is a big part of why he was able to address my concerns so quickly and professionally.
Things don't always go wrong because someone doesn't care. Sometimes problems happen. What matters is how a dealership responds when they do.
In my experience, Jeff responded the right way.
I sincerely appreciate his help and the way he treated my family and me throughout the process. If you’re looking for someone in the service department who is honest, trustworthy, listens to his customers, and genuinely wants to help, I highly recommend Jeff Smith and anyone on his team over at Leith GMC in Wendell.
