“How does Candy's not have more reviews? This is my favorite beer store and the randomness of it is amazing. Want a cigar? Check the humidor. Need hot sauce? Check out the hot sauce wall. Need flip flops, sunglasses, a zippo or sunscreen? Check, check, check, check. Leg cramp? Grab a banana. Craving a beer? Check out what's on draft (always something local), in the walk in beer cooler, the shelf or the fridge. Pull up a chair and hang with the locals inside or take it to the picnic tables outside. Candy's isn't just a gas station with puka necklaces, it's a destination.”
“Great spot, off the beaten path where Wrightsville Rd. spilts off to Castle St., to pick up a snack, beverages, even boiled peanuts. But this is much more than a gas station. Russell's Quik Stop was recently made semi-famous for being featured in the 2021 blockbuster movie, Halloween Kills. Just outside, in front of the station, is where you can see Anthony Michael Hall delivering his speech to the town crowd. Not sure at what time in the movie this takes place, though. Aside from it's rising fame of being a store in a movie about Michael Myers, Russell's offers an insane variety of other sundries and novelty items. Want a nicotine vape cartridge? They got it. Pack of smoky treats with a 12 pack of beer and a D8 vape pen? Yep...you can purchase that combo of products too. They even have small grocery items to spare you from having to make the trek to a larger grocery store...including snacks and ice cream. Russell's also offer their customers fresh brewed coffee and boiled peanuts up front. Also available is a dual functioning machine which includes a vacuum hose to clean out your car and an air pump. The staff...Theresa, Mo and the man who I refer to as Morgan Freeman's twin brother, give this place a hometown feel and are always eager to assist. My personal fave to get from here? That would be their 16 oz. Icehouse tall boys for just a buck each! The service is very good, the selections are abundant and the place is very clean. Each time I've stopped in, I have felt welcomed and safe. But, if you're into Horror movies, Russell's is a must visit place just to stand in the same spot as the cast did when they filmed Halloween Kills, to snap some pics. SCORE: 5 STARS!!”
“As of the this writing, this Scotchman store is dispensing non-ethanol 93 octane Shell V-Power gasoline. I just wanted to post this information for boaters or other drivers whose vehicles run significantly better on non-ethanol fuels. It has only been a single day since I filled up and I've already seen a tick upwards of half a point in my average mpg without changing my driving habits. I am *really* glad to have found this station!”
