“I had the pleasure of visiting the Forsyth Humane Society earlier this week and got to spend some time talking to the caretakers and playing with the dogs. The people here are wonderful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They genuinely care for the animals they watch over.If you're looking to bring home a four legged family member or somewhere to volunteer a few hours of your time, Forsyth Humane Society is for you.”

“Fairytale Farm is a wonderful sanctuary that has been unmatched in their dedication and commitment to rescue efforts in our community. As the only rescue for domestic rabbits in our area, they were instrumental in saving over 70 domestic rabbits that had been dumped all over Forsyth County this past summer. Without Fairytale, those bunnies would not have survived. When my daughter was looking to add bunnies to a therapy program she was assisting with, Fairytale matched them up with three wonderful bunnies. If you are thinking of adopting, would like to foster or have some time to volunteer, Fairytale is a great choice!
It is a small organization and could use all the support possible from our community.”

“I love this area of downtown. The modern mixed with historic buildings are really cool. Bailey Park is a great place for employees or students to hang out and enjoy a nice day. They plan a ton of events to enjoy. The surrounding restaurants and businesses really add to this part of downtown.”

“Large store. Some good stuff cheap if you look around. The drive-thru donation drop-off is very convenient, didn't even have to get out my car. I hate throwing away things someone else can use!”

“We just rented one of a/perture’s theatres for a private showing (you bring your own DVD and they provide the support, popcorn, and sodas) and had SUCH a great time! It was fun to watch a favorite movie with friends and family in their theatre seats with cup holders where we could shout out the lines with the actors (and be a bit snarky with comments). When a gem a/perture is for WS. Everything from the inquiry, to the booking (thx Aaron), to the attention (thx Karen) for the 3 hour duration went seamlessly. I’d highly recommend this to others! And we’ll do it again in the future.”

“I’m Mary Garvey and I grew up in Winston-Salem. I believe this Goodwill on University Parkway was the first one I ever went to when I was 13 in 1972. It changed my life and inspired me to open up a consignment shop, the clothesline, in Greensboro, North Carolina and that is what I did for over 25 years! I’m now 66 years old and I still tell people that the Goodwill on University Parkway is consistently THE BEST ONE I’ve shopped and I’ve shopped at Goodwill‘s in over 20 states. I find designer merchandise and unique styles that are as fine as those from the some of the wealthiest cities in this country. And their prices quite reasonable across the board. I mainly shop for women’s clothing but Winston Salem’s “old money” generation collected fabulous art/pottery/textiles, etc that have been passed down then ended up in Goodwill’s art corner. And the staff there are friendly as heck. They always thank me for taking everything off the hangers.
My mother (Frances Wilson)is 94 and still lives in Winston Salem so I get in trouble BAD at this Goodwill every two weeks. I LOVE GOODWILL! AND I LOVE WINSTON SALEM!”

“Came to this center today for a Living Donor Champion Program. As a candidate and on the list for a kidney transplant, this program hosted by Donate@Life gave us a lot of information on getting a kidney from a living donor. The event was hosted by Miracles in Sight. They are based here in Winston and started up years ago to help get people new eyes through donor donations. Luckily I’m not getting new eyes, cause then I will probably see how ugly I really am!!!! The center is beautiful and big. It is very inviting and is also like a museum. Anyone is welcome to come get a tour, which I plan on returning for. Definitely cool to have this here in our city! If it were not for this event, we would have never known! Come check it out, you won’t be disappointed!”
