“I wanted to recognize one of the employees at the Fairlawn, Ohio Post Office for an act of kindness that has stayed with me ever since I witnessed it on Friday, May 15, 2026.
While I was there mailing a package, an elderly gentleman came in to check his P.O. Box. The employee greeted him warmly and mentioned that she hadn't seen him in a while. He became emotional and shared that his wife of many years had recently passed away.
There wasn't anything she could do to change his circumstances, but what she did next spoke volumes. She took the time to listen, asked if he had family or friends nearby to support him, and when he shared that he didn't, she simply offered her compassion, her presence, and a hug.
In a world where everyone seems to be in a hurry, she reminded me how much a few minutes of genuine kindness can mean to someone who is hurting. It was one of the most sincere examples of empathy and customer service I've ever witnessed.
I don't know her name, but I hope this review reaches her or her supervisor. She represents the very best of the U.S. Postal Service, and the Fairlawn community is fortunate to have someone like her serving its customers. Her kindness and humanity made a lasting impression on me, and I hope she receives the recognition she deserves.
It's also worth recognizing her colleagues, who graciously stepped in to assist the other customers while she gave this gentleman the time and compassion he needed.

“The manager handled a complaint from a customer in front of me very cordially and professionally. She explained the post office processes to him thoroughly and politely and was able to reassure him that she would do what she could to help with his issue.
The process of mailing my packages was also very smooth all around. There was a nice selection of mailers with different designs and sizes and the employee who helped add my postage was nice and efficient.”

It's almost like having an extended family. I don't understand the negative reviews of this location. Perhaps people need to incorporate a bit more patience into their lives. The world doesn't revolve around you.”
“There is a new young man who delivers our mail that went above and beyond today 5/22/26. I’m only sad I did not catch his name. Kicking myself for not thinking to ask. He delivered to 2190 East ave. He delivered an important package that we had been waiting for all day and he then watched as a man walked up behind him and stole it. This young man chased him and got it back. He then left a note stating for us to pick it up but I got home from work shortly thereafter and caught him still on our street where he came and handed me the package and explained everything. If this was you then thank you so much sir. This man needs a raise and a promotion. Employees like this are very hard to find. I’ll catch your name next time I see you bringing the mail.”
“I went this afternoon to replace my passport. I was leery about it after reading the reviews but I had made an appointment & It was too late in the day to get one anywhere else.
I arrived about 30 minutes early and walked in to find two windows open and no customers waiting. I was helped right away and both employees were very pleasant. It was a great experience. The quickest and easiest I’ve ever been able to take care of a passport issue.
I filled my application out online before arriving, printed it single sided & brought my docs & copies of them as described in the passport application instructions & waited to sign my application until they said to. A little preparedness may have gone a long way but they were super friendly so I don’t think it was just that.”
“Our courier is great and when I was worried and called the local Firestone Park Brown St center the person Cindy was VERY helpful. Her and our courier worked to get the package to us, even though the address number was incorrect. They are ver kind hardworking and so helpful.”
