Glidden House is a fantastic and charming boutique hotel situated in a beautiful historic house in the heart of Cleveland’s University Circle, close to museums, a botanical garden, and Case Western Reserve University. The venue is described as enchanting, combining historic elegance with modern amenities, with beautiful gardens and cozy indoor spaces that provide a perfect, romantic backdrop for weddings and events.
The staff are consistently praised as fantastic, very kind, incredibly accommodating, professional, and organized, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Guests highlight specific staff members for their wonderful service and great personality. The rooms are very clean and nice, with very comfortable beds, though some note the beds are not large and the pillows could be better. The hotel maintains the appearance of its 1910 origins.
The breakfast receives mixed reviews; some find the breakfast bar great, well-stocked with options like bagels, waffles, yogurt, and oatmeal, while others feel it is just ok, nothing special, and could be modernized or improved. The bar service is a point of criticism, with drinks described as poorly made and prices considered outrageous, much higher than listed, which was disappointing and unacceptable to some. Despite this, the hotel is considered a wonderful stay and an excellent, unique choice for lodging and wedding celebrations.
10 year industry guy here. Kyle and John know exactly what they’re doing. Professional, attentive, anticipating needs, and when it comes to being personable and absolute 10/10. If the owner trusted them with the keys it would be way better than just fine. Lucky to have these two!

Great staff, clean updated rooms and a wonderful breakfast

The breakfast was a bit lackluster. Our expectation was that the food was made to order not a buffet.
