When she greeted me, I thought maybe she was a Customer because she was not wearing any type of uniform attire. She was definitely attending well to the shoppers within the Store. “Five Below is always such a fun place to shop - theres just so much cool and random stuff to look through, and I almost always find something I didn’t even know I wanted. The person at the checkout was super friendly and made the experience really pleasant. The only downside was that one staff member stocking shelves was really rude, which kind of took away from the vibe. Still, overall it’s a great store with tons of fun finds!”
“OK I only gave them a 5 star because they sell books . I DON'T NO OF ANY OTHER STORE THAT SELLS BOOKS IN PERSON ANYMORE . Only online can you get a book . They are practically non existent . Anyhow the store is a DISASTER MESS . There is no organization ,I've seen flea markets better organized . Everything is just thrown anywhere throughout the store. There's sections I guess but what a mess . They need more staff , let's face it all these places are all understaffed ,underpaid and miss managed . Workers frustrated because there set up to fail. “They are working on coming back. You can tell they have significantly reduced the number of items they carry in inventory, even in the holiday decor area, Big Lots used to carry so much more decor for Halloween and Christmas. They still carry staples like shampoo, conditioner and body wash at great prices and they carry a lot more clothing than the old Big Lots used to carry. I am hoping that the longer they are open the more their inventory will grow.”

“I frequent this store. Every time I visit, the staff are pleasant. The line moves quickly. Most of the time, I am able to get everything I stopped in for. You can't beat the prices. Lately, some of the freezers have been broke down, so there are limited frozen products. I find they are typically organized, but during holiday season, it can be less so. I do not ever buy produce there. It never looks as good as the local market to me, so I just stick to the market.”

I was scrambling around last night getting things together for a birthday party….. they rocked and helping me get balloons ready with smiles on their face as these balloons are popping before we get them blown up they didn’t give up they were over and beyond to help me I live in Cleveland. I will probably guarantee drive the 30 minutes if I ever need Dollar General again just to see these young ladies. These girls deserve a high five.”

“I should NOT say this, but I will.....T-BONE STEAKS!!!!! Dang it, I gave away my secret. They are three to a pack (perfect for MY family size) and I can get THREE packages here for the same price that I would pay for ONE elsewhere. This store has some of the BEST meats (I don't eat pork). They also have some priced to sell meats as well (meaning you need to make them the day of purchase or the next day or immediately freeze them). Just because it says Save A Lot doesn't mean that everything is off brand. THERE ARE A LOT OF HIGH QUALITY NAME BRANDS HERE (sorry for yelling.....LOL!). I have gotten a lot of "two fors" here in the produce section. If you want to make your money go a long way, I recommend checking out their meats and other name brand items when you get a chance. You can always go to whatever other grocery store you frequent and get the rest of your food items if need be.”

“This is the cleanest Sav a Lot I have ever seen. Fully stocked. Bonus is The Superior Deli inside with big hot food bar. Blackberry cobbler, peach cobbler, cherry cobbler all delicious. Ribs, chicken fish, meatloaf and more. A wid array of side dishes. The white Mac and cheese is very good. Love this store!”
“This store is around the corner from the house. Friendly staff, usually quiet atmosphere-reflective of the neighborhood. This time they were out of paper towels, it seems to rotate since the coronavirus hit. Probably good idea to call ahead and see if the one of the main items you're after is there. Otherwise, good visit.”

Most of the prices are correct & if not they will correct them at the register. It's a shame you have to travel over 30mins to get good customer service. “I lost my wallet at this store. I did not know that at the time, thought I lost it at another store before arriving there. Long story short, the guy I always speak to and is so very kind to respond and acknowledge me, showed up at my apartment today with wallet, everything in tact, I mean everything, quite a bit of cash, credit cards, important information, like nothing was moved. Thank God for this man and I am forever indebted to him even though everything was cancelled out and replaced. I can’t describe what this means to me there aren’t enough words. I have live in this neighborhood for 15yrs. This store has been my go to all these years for things like birthday bags, decorations, oils, shopping carts , rugs, electrical cords, small tools , etc.. IYKYK, simple as that. “I shop at this Family Dollar regularly. Todays visit was the second time this week. The first time this week that I visited they had no candles (I buy several plain white candles each time I visit) but it was refilled by my visit today. They usually have what I am looking for. Sometimes the workers speak when I enter the store, sometimes they don't. It's clean and organized. What more can I ask for?”
Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
