“Thank you Bicycle One for your help!
After searching online for a new bike, I stopped at a local bike store to check it and a few other bikes out. While looking at the bike, I was given several off the cuff answers to questions I asked, most which were completely wrong. This was at a larger multi-store business around the Cleveland area. The last straw was none of their stores had the bike I wanted in the color I wanted and in the size that best fit me.
I expanded my search and came across Bicycle One. They are a 2 hour drive from me but I called and Joe answered the phone. I told him Uncle Google said they had what I was after, Joe checked and they happened to have two in the color I wanted, one large and the other extra-large on the floor ready to go. Since it would be a 2 hour drive and the forecast was to be in single digits (at least here at home) I asked if Joe would mind sending me a picture of each so I could be sure they really were there and in the color I wanted. In short order, I had the pictures so I drove down to the Gahana store the next day. The technicians just finished going over one of the bikes and already had the other one in the shop looking it over before I arrived.
Joe was off that day but Nick helped with the bike purchase and after a short delay with adjusting the rear derailer, I was getting ready to take my new bike home.
I don’t know the names of everyone who helped to make this a great experience but it all started with Joe who was more than willing to answer all my questions and send me the pictures I asked for. Nick did a good job helping me decide on the size that worked best for me (turned out to be the extra large). I'm not sure but I think it may have been Mel who worked the derailer issue (sorry if I got that wrong) and finally Troy who helped me wrap the bike up in moving blankets and load it into my truck.
I’ve worked the bulk of my career as a maint tech in a corporate aviation flight department and doing so you have to understand customer service. From what I saw at Bicycle One from that first phone call, through loading the bike into my truck, were people who truly understand customer service. You don’t find that everyday.
Thanks again to all, it was well worth the two hour drive from Brunswick!”
“Patrick McGuire was a huge help in getting me and my girlfriend set up on gravel bikes. He was super informative and insightful on explaining everything we needed to know about the bike. I’m happy to come back to Trek Westerville anytime to work. I will definitely refer anyone looking for a bike there.”
“The ONLY place I take my bike for repairs fast, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all bikes. It’s a Family business and we all should be supporting them. Shop local, shop small but know that you can’t go wrong purchasing here! Love love love this shop.”
“This bike shop is awesome! I brought my bike in for a tune-up, and they went through everything, fixed what needed fixing, and now it rides like brand new. The prices are very reasonable, and it has that really welcoming, small business vibe. I love supporting local shops like this — uptown businesses and small shops work hard, and it feels good to give back a little by choosing them over big chains. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about bikes, which makes the whole experience enjoyable. I left feeling like my bike was in great hands, and I’ll definitely be back for any future maintenance. It’s the kind of place every cyclist should know about — reliable, personable, and totally worth supporting.”
“Gary was the best! Walked in for a minor wheel repair and had my bike fixed in 5 minutes. Super nice guy, replaced a worn part for cheap, and didn’t try to sell any other services/repairs. Clearly just wants the best for his customers. Definitely taking my bike back for its next repair!”
“I had a great experience getting my Segway Myon assembled here. I ordered it online to be delivered to the shop, and they had it built and ready the next day. The technician who did the assembly was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a lot of useful info about the bike. John was super friendly and very hands-on, personally checking with the tech to ensure all the tools, charger, and accessories were accounted for. I was so impressed by the service and the atmosphere that I signed up for a 2-year service plan. They’ve definitely earned my business! Thanks again!!”
“I absolutely had a great experience! Everyone was so helpful and kind. If you’re looking for a bike that’s basically new without paying full retail price, this is a fantastic option. It’s been well cared for, stored indoors, and looks and feels fresh out of the shop. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a reliable and stylish ride without the new-bike markup.”
“I took my e-bike to Orbit City for a rear tube replacement. The owner took a bike he was working on off the rack. He placed my bike on the rack and replaced the tube while I waited. The repair price was very fair and the service was excellent . I have found my new bike shop for repairs on our e-bikes.”
“Awesome experience today working with Sam! He was super knowledgeable and taught us all about ebikes along with showing hands as he was explaining. He didn’t pressure us at all which was great. My girlfriend and I ended up each getting an ebike that fits all of our needs, so excited! Thanks again Sam you’re the best. Would recommend Paradise Garage & Sam specifically!”
“This bike shop is a priceless part of the Columbus cycling community. There are many unique and beautiful bikes for sale. Staff is limited so I would recommend getting your service done well before the season starts. Dave has a vast wealth of bike knowledge and specialized tools.”
“I had a great experience at the Trek store in Gahanna. I went in knowing I wanted to upgrade to a new bike but not really knowing what would work best for my needs. The customer service was fantastic! Steven helped me get sized and walked me through various options to test and discussed any questions I had throughout the whole process. I walked out with a FX SPORT SL 4 SO and can’t wait for my first commute to work on it! 10/10 overall!”
