“Powell Jewelers is wonderful for repair work. After 20 years my wedding bands were in desperate need of repairs. I originally took my rings to Zales on Polaris. They wrote up my rings work order and shipped them off to a third party vendor for repairs. Estimated cost 1500. I get a call from Zales telling me they couldn’t do the work-their jeweler was not comfortable fixing the bends, replacing or repairing prongs-the whole thing-so I go pick them up. I was not provided much context regarding the abilities of the jeweler and they couldn’t answer any of my questions regarding why my ring was risky.
So, I set out looking for a small, private shop with a vision of a jeweler in the back-if it even existed in this day and age. And guess what? I found that here!!!! Long story short-they fixed my rings (onsite!) plus more AND is was LESS than half of the cost at Zales! Amazing craftsmanship and customer service! I’m super happy! If you need something fixed-this is the place. Thanks Powell jewelers!”

Upon dropping off to Ken, possibly the rudest sales person we have ever met, proceeded to lecture us on the meaning of cubic zirconia. His implication being our ring was fake. This after we handled him the 12 GIA certificates. We laugh it off.Then, we request to have our pending wedding date engraved into the ring, which he wrote down properly, but then proceeds to incorrectly engrave. So now we have to wait while they refill the engraving and do it again. I show up today to pick up the ring and Ken asks me with disgust, "Why do you care, it will wear off anyway" when I questioned him as to why the engraving was off center and crooked.Ken is the type of arrogant sales rep we can all do without. He projects an attitude of superiority. This beautiful store should be a place of happy memories, not a place of small mindedness where the sales associates accommodate their own insecurities by trying to belittle their customers.Ken should be encouraged to read, "How to Win Friends and Influence People," by Dale Carnegie. At worst maybe give him a refresher in the importance of following the Golden Rule in the sales process.Ken: your one star attitude is dragging down a five star store. “Great shop for antique jewelry and repairs! The owner Gina and her husband are incredibly kind and knowledgeable when it comes to vintage and antique jewelry and happy to share their 40+ years of experience with customers! I went to their shop to get an antique emerald ring I had recently purchased on Etsy repaired. Gina and her husband, inspected the ring under the microscope and identified that the stone in the ring was actually a garnet and glass doublet, not an emerald! Mitch was kind enough to explain how he determined the stone was a garnet and glass doublet and even let me look at the ring under their microscope. Very lucky to have this local shop run by such lovely people in the Clintonville area!”

“First of all let's just say this there is a reason there are only 5 star reviews. My girlfriend and I are planning out our engagement and we were ring shopping. We made an appointment to come in and this was the last jeweler before we decided who to go with. Right away Andy (son of William) just asked some questions to get to know us and what we were looking for. He told us they make their own style of rings right there in the shop. They don't just take measurements send those off to be cast at some other location. It's done by the two men behind the counter there. They have their own style of rings which separates them from traditional ring shapes. Aside from wedding rings they do just about everything jewelry related. Rings, earrings, necklaces etc... We have a family diamond passed down and Andy was able to create the ring and set the diamond. He also appraised the diamond for us. We then found another jewel to put in place from the piece we got the diamond and set that piece. Needless to say they did a fantastic job. The prices were respectable to the true artistic and craft work performed. After picking the piece out Andy took us back and showed us the process and work benches the ring would be made on. He showed us every step and during the appraisal he let us look at the diamond under microscope to see what makes ours unique. He explained the history behind it and how diamonds are made. They truly care about what they do. After 1 month we came in to look at the diamond and we're completely amazed by it. William and Andy smiled and said this is why they do what they do for these moments. They are truly masters of their craft and I would recommend to anyone! We will be returning for our wedding bands too.”

“I visited Red Giraffe Designs today with two goals in mind and of course to browse a little! Mattie was working today and was excellent and helping me walk through the process of designing a necklace for a graduation present (first goal). I was a little nervous to ask for my forever bracelet to be made a little tighter, but she quickly assured me it wasn't an annoying request and fixed it in less than two minutes (second goal). I paid for my order ran to the grocery store and received a text that it was ready. Custom present, bracelet adjustment, and grocery trip in less than one hour.
