“The location is the best! Right on the lake - great view of the lake from the tiny restaurant or from the outside patio. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The pool was small and need skimming, but otherwise nice. The room, however, left a little to be desired. The major issue was that the room had a very pronounced mildew smell. We were on the first floor, which was a good thing, because the elevator to the other floors was broken. That being said, we will definitely be back. The staff and the location made up for the other inconveniences.”

“Wonderful accommodations at a lovely inn. My husband and I frequently stay at Inns when we travel and loved our stay at the Red Fern Inn’s Bay Point Room. Great view of the lake, clean and comfortable!”

“Great place to stay when visiting Cedar Point! The road to get to the causeway is one right turn away. The rooms were nice too with comfy beds, and spacious. Breakfast was alright with a pancake maker and some carbs. If you're looking for a place to stay with for a reasonable price, South Shore Inn has got your back!Food & drinks: Complementary water bottles when checking in. A vending machine is inside too, with complementary breakfast in the morning.”

“Rooms always smell fresh and clean. Great location far enough away from the traffic of Cedar Point next to a nature preserve and right by the back entrance of the park. Owner is very friendly and the rates are fair. There is a railroad crossing across the street and a loud train horn blows every 40 minutes or so. I heard they have earplugs but I enjoy the sound, especially the rumble of a train, doesn’t keep me awake. The pool is fresh and clean and cold. Donuts and coffee in the office in the morning if you’re up early enough. Always a nice stay.Rooms: Rooms are small and retro, originally built in the 50s? Flatscreen TV and mini fridge”

“Marie was awesome, making our check in wonderful. Beautiful room, great location, and a decent price. This will be our go-to going forward. One recommendation: Bring pillows, they provide ones with a plastic inner liner, which reflect heat. <- This is a very minor issue, but worth noting.Rooms: Large clean roomsNearby activities: Tiki bar 50 foot from the front doorWalkability: It is just off the stripFood & drinks: The bartenders/servers were super friendly and attentive.”

“Stayed here over Christmas break. This place is so family and kid friendly. The smaller size makes it much more manageable for families with smaller kids. The quest with the wands were a hit. Also the activities in the lobby. Festive holiday decorations. Overall great time. The extras do add up, expect to pay more for a lot of the added fun things.Rooms: The rooms were spacious and clean.”

“Loved it !!! Nice clean and comfy rooms. I preferred 1st floor but others book the above floors to look at the beach and waves on higher floors. If you go during HALLOWEEK bring some cute decorations and lights.”

“First time renting. New owners. A little clunky to book but they will work it out. On site staff great. Loved the location and pool. Quite hours at 10 PMNearby activities: This on kelleys Island a little more quite than south bass. Glacier groves are a must see. Good restaurant and a couple of wineries. Not much else”

“This place is on point! We live 5 minutes away & wanted to have a place to enjoy a winter night away from home. This place is top notch & BEAUTIFUL. The food and drinks at oh taco are the best!”

“Wish I could give this place zero stars!! Dirty and did not feel safe sleeping here. Was asked for a $100 deposit on top of the cash we gave for our room, when they tried to charge our card already for it when I selected to pay on site. Called multiple times to ask if we were coming to our reservation bc they were being booked up fast. Spiders are everywhere in the hallway of the hotel. My wife and I got woken up by loud banging on our room door sounded like someone was going to break in. Soft spots all in the bathroom walls. Police were on site when we showed up bc of a problem was not apologetic at all. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE THE PICTURES THAT ARE POSTED ARE CATFISH PICTURES!!!! not even the same hotel. Like a review said before sleep in ur car before sleeping here.”

“Here for my son's 5th Bday. We had a blast. Great place for smaller kids. Fun activities the kids loved (projecting their sea animals on the wall through projector, games in the lobby, interactive pirate ship, craft room) added bonus, Santa was here, and he was great!”

“These cottages are like staying in a "tiny home". They're equipped with everything you need, but the main attraction is the location & view. These are perfect if you're going to Cedar Point. There's a free shuttle that takes you over to the park. Highly recommend!”

“One of the cleanest hotels I have been in a long time. The staff were super friendly. It was a very very good price. Only 8 mi away from Cedar point. We saved a lot of money going here and it was much better than the cheaper hotels in Sandusky.Rooms: One of the cleaner rooms I have been in for quite some time. It is a great value being so close to Cedar point. Which is about 8 or 10 miles away.”

“The location is not bad plenty around to do and eat. The community fire pits and the pool and volleyball are nice. Love that it's dog friendly most places are not and the fee for your pup is reasonable. $10 per night under 40 lbs. , and $20 per night over 40lbs. Much cheaper than boarding and safer too. My only complaint is the beds are so uncomfortable. And the one bedroom we had the paint was coming off the paneling. That should have been corrected when housekeeping saw it. The couch was more comfortable than the beds. But for what it's worth it is a great place to stay.”

“The pros: nice room, very quiet, great customer service! The fitness room was nice except the fitness bike wouldn't tell you any information about how far you've gone or calories burned. Stuck on "choose a program or push quick start". Had good dumbbells!Cons: the indoor swimming pool actually used to be a therapy pool. So don't expect to do any cannonballs or laps. The water should be warmer for sure! Talked to a mom and her daughter about the pool and they definitely thought the chlorine level was too high. Towels leftover from the previous night ?Rooms: Nice room! The big light in the bathroom wasn't working. It wasn't a big deal but housekeeping should have noticed that.Food & drinks: The breakfast selection was very good! I definitely ate too much the next day ?”

“Hotel was nice & quiet. Very glad they offered "family suite" with the extra bed. Breakfast wasn't so great. I didn't have a chance to see the pool but my kids said it was nice. Arcade inside was outdated. New carpet needed.Nearby activities: Kalahari, great Wolfe lodge”

“This was our second time at the commodore and we will be coming back! I suggest the pool view rooms. We had a slight issue with our room and Kelley was super accommodating and helped us out and gave us great reccomendations about things to do. Rooms are great rates and the best location on the island. Easy access to late night food. I will say if you’re looking for a quiet secluded place to stay, this might not be for you, but we come here for the fun atmosphere and this place puts you right in the middle of the action.”
