    “GFS is a no-nonsense restaurant supply store. You don't have to be in the restaurant industry to shop there, however it's definitely geared toward that demographic. It's a pretty good place if you're planning on having a large meal or a party, as they sell large sheets of frozen cheesecakes and other desserts or huge boxes of hamburger patties or large containers with lasagna or ravioli, etc. I have not always found what I wanted at GFS, but I rarely leave empty-handed! One negative I have to say is that they do have a grocery section in the back where you can buy deli, meats and cheeses and things like that. However, the last two times I stopped I found a lot of their produce to be of a poor quality. There were berries with mold on them and broccoli with huge rotten spots in it so I don't necessarily think I would recommend going there for that sort of thing. But anything bulk that you need for parties or celebrations or large family get-togethers this is the place to go!”

    “Thanks for a great experience! I love Heinen's grocery stores! I was on a dry run to locate a salon my stylist is transferring to. I spotted the Heinen's and enjoy there bakery. A kind gentleman employee shared where to find it, and very a nice young lady in the bakery assisted me with locating a chocolate croissant it was not the chocolate filled one, but the chocolate drizzled one was delicious, cashier was kind and helpful too! Great phenomenal dream team of employees!”

They have most of the basic groceries - produce, breads, dairy, meats, seafood, canned goods, beer & wine, and more - at lower prices than the other stores. They also have several sections of specialty items - housewares, toys, clothing, etc. - that changes regularly. You never know what you might find. Bring a quarter to unlock the shopping cart (you'll get it back) and bring your own bags. The employees are friendly and helpful. It isn't a superstore, so there are a few items you won't find there - that's the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. But for the money, you're better off getting most of what's on your list at Aldi's.”

The space is beautifully designed, well-organized, and welcoming. ​What really set this visit apart was the customer service. The team member assisting us on the floor was engaging and knowledgeable, walking us through creative pairings of infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Drizzling balsamic vinegar over vanilla ice cream for tasting was a unique touch that worked surprisingly well. ​We ended up purchasing several bottles—including Persian Lime Infused Olive Oil, Garlic Infused Olive Oil, Black Mission Fig Balsamic, and Cascadian Wild Raspberry White Balsamic—to expand our collection at home. The included recipe ideas were a helpful addition, and offering a military discount was greatly appreciated. ​Logistics Tip: For easy parking, use the dedicated parking garage nearby on E Cottage Street. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys cooking or fine ingredients.”

  • Walmart Expands 30-Minute Delivery to 33 Markets

    Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions.
